The Enjenir: The Engineering Physics Building Simulator · build 16504387 · published
Hey anyone on the beta branch!
We've just updated the beta branch of the game with some new mechanics that we'd like to have tested
/ stress tested before it goes live on the main branch hopefully in the next week or so!
If anyone is confused as to why they got an update on the main build of the game last night that took them to 0.4f, and now another update reverted it to 0.4d... it's because I made a booboo and meant to push the build to the beta branch, not the main branch! 😅
So, the main headline items for this 0.4f update to the beta branch that is currently live as of now are:
Aerodynamic Sheets
- These need to be manually enabled on a per sheet basis, so if you use the select tool to click on a sheet, you can enable it to experience aerodynamic forces. This makes it possible to build planes, and even rudders for boats too (as it works under water!)
Gears
- Gears are back in the beta, and have been revamped. Our previous attempt at gears had issues like constantly getting stuck. Due to the physics and gridless nature of the game - if gears pop out of alignment, they have a higher chance of getting stuck (just like real life!) but we've made changes to improve and address that but if people could test it out and give us feedback on them - that would be much appreciated! You have multiple of options when placing them. You can change the scale/thickness, pressing shift will place them inside the centre of a beam/log, you can lock them etc. Lots of options to play with! You can check the guide on the left (with G) to display the options, and click on them with the select tool to make them fixed/locked to what it is attached to.
Photomode UI
- We've rearranged the UI in photomode and added a button in the game that takes you straight to the folder on your computer that has the images. So no more awkwardly searching through folders trying to find them!
Again, if you have any feedback, please post it as a reply below or join us on Discord (usually gets a much more quicker response on discord!)
Many thanks,
