Rejected Draft Has Grown — Development Update

Hey everyone! Kuzzi here, the solo developer of Rejected Draft. This is my first Steam announcement, and it’s long overdue!

About the release date

First, I want to acknowledge that Rejected Draft was originally planned for an August release, and that date has obviously come and gone. I should have communicated that sooner, so apologies to anyone who’s been waiting for news! The good news is that development is very much alive, and the game has grown far beyond what I originally planned!

Scope Creep

Rejected Draft was always designed around deep, interconnected progression systems, with a lot of math and careful balancing to make everything fit together. But as development continued, the scope expanded to a whole new level. Features like equipment, collectibles, and challenges weren’t even part of the original plan!

Combined with continued improvements to all existing systems, UI, and balancing, the full game is shaping up to be something much more substantial than I initially envisioned.

Over 1 MILLION hours played?!

I recently took a closer look at the statistics across the web versions and Steam demo, and discovered something that genuinely blew me away. Players have collectively spent well over 1 MILLION hours playing Rejected Draft! As a solo developer, that’s incredibly humbling.

With everything that's been added, the full game is now on track to offer 5,000 hours of progression for the most dedicated players. It's wild to think that, if even a fraction of the people who've wishlisted the game eventually experience all that content, we could someday surpass 10 MILLION total hours played.

Honestly, the biggest reward for me is knowing that something I created, this little labor of love, has brought people so many hours of enjoyment.

Thank you!

To everyone who’s played, contributed artwork, shared feedback, reported bugs, or just followed along, a sincere thank you! The free Steam demo already offers 100+ hours of content and some players have squeezed it for way more than it was meant to offer. I can’t wait for you to experience everything the full game has in store.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
