Windows players get v0.203 automatically.
Steam Deck and Linux players can try the new native version: right-click the demo, choose Properties, then Betas, and select linux. On a Deck,
also open Compatibility and turn off "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool". Let me know if this doesn't work as expected and what the issue is as I will keep working on this until It is correct.
On the Formation tab each hero now has arrows to move them to the Front, Middle or Back line.
Heroes start the fight standing in those three lines. Before, a party always started in a diagonal set by role.
Default lines are unchanged: shields at the front, blades in the middle, spells and healing at the back.
A hero you have moved is marked with a dashed edge. Move them back to their usual line to undo it.
A shield now only protects allies standing near the tank. Before, a tank could shield anyone from across the room.
Known limitation: a tank moved to the back line still walks forward to fight, so it does not stay beside your healer yet.
We are working on new gambits to make a tank hold its position and offer more tactical decisions from the new changes.
Fixed: in a contested final room, a rival hall was penalised by the dungeon's condition twice. Rival halls now take the normal penalty once, so these fights are harder than before in flooded and cursed dungeons. Deep cold was not affected.
You can now keep up to three guilds. Your existing save is in slot 1 and loads as before.
Finishing the demo now shows an end screen with a thank you, a link to wishlist the full game, and a Play Again button. Play Again starts a new guild in a free slot, so your finished save is kept.
Each hero has a new Then and now section comparing them to when they joined. It and "Who are they" can be collapsed.
The Chronicle now mentions a hero's standout year or a veteran's first decline, only when the change is large enough to matter.
The odds bar now stays at the top of the screen while you scroll the Formation tab, as it already did on Orders.
Hero listings that are getting no interest now say why this has occured.
The fight log now shows when a hero changes stance.
There is now a native Linux version of the demo for Steam Deck and Linux, instead of running the Windows version through Proton. It is new, so please report anything that goes wrong, including your device and whether it launched.
All new text is translated into all 12 languages.
Fixed Russian lines where the year appeared in the wrong place in the sentence. Thank you everyone for playing the Demo so far and all of the feedback you have provided! See you in the Halls!
