Tracking & exploring during your journey are getting a boost thanks to the brand-new in-game journal system and interactive, customizable map markers, all while diving in the sea is now even more immersive with a procedural update to the underwater world. Plus, you will feel an immediate difference with some highly requested inventory improvements, featuring 20% more space, an upgraded layout, and a dedicated map slot so you can carry more of what matters!
This update took a bit longer than anticipated because I was moving, but I am absolutely thrilled to finally share it with you!
Update to v0.11.0:
- Added procedural generation to the underwater world
- Added procedural fish and underwater life generation across the world (you can find marine life in every corner of the ocean now)
- Added a new island to discover and explore
- Added a new wreck site
- Increased inventory space by 20% (10 -> 12 with no upgrade, 15 -> 18 with the first upgrade, etc.)
- The map now has a separate equipment slot and no longer takes up main inventory space
- Updated the inventory layout with improved graphic elements and added a dedicated button to open the Journal
- Added the Journal system to track questlines, notes, and tutorials
- Added a new story note and updated some already existing notes
- Added how-to entries for workstation handling in the journal
- Added a dedicated keybind option to open the Journal (Default: J Key)
- Players can now add different kinds of custom markers to the map, some featuring checkbox functionality to track progress
- Updated map UI (coordinates) and added the new island to the map
- Overhauled the tutorial system
- Skipping the tutorial now automatically unlocks all tutorial guide steps in the journal
- Overall UI Layout improvements: Background graphics now scale correctly across different screen aspect ratios
- Reorganized the Fridge inventory UI layout from 3x2 to 2x3
- The Death Loot chest interface is now scrollable
- Double air tanks can now be dismantled
- Standing in fire now inflicts repeating damage
- Updated controls layout reference graphic for keyboard users
- Improved gamepad joystick cursor precision (cursor slows down when the stick is not fully tilted - UI only)
- Ladders can now snap directly below other ladders when positioned above ground
- Wires now immediately occupy connector slots without waiting for wire physics simulation
- Increased maximum energy transfer rate per wire connection
- Energy storage units no longer passively draw power when completely full
- Fixed power loss issues between connectors when distributing excess energy
- Hanging Iron Lanterns now return resources when dismantled
- Fixed an issue where items in the 4th inventory row would not have their info screen opened
- Fixed wrong or missing footstep sound effects on certain foundations and floors
- Removed footstep sound effects when walking through ghost placeholder building pieces
- Fixed thrown spears floating in mid-air when targeting fish or crabs
- Fixed buoyant items not floating in the ocean
- Fixed drone error where wings remained stuck in an upward state, causing movement problems
- Adjusted collision on drone back wings to prevent getting stuck on trees
- Added info & notifications for co-op players that only the host can save the game
