Everything since August: nine builds in one post

Nine builds landed since the last post. Here is all of it.

Warpack is an auto-battler: you build an army in a shop, position it on a grid,
and it fights on its own against armies other players built. The demo is free on the
store page, two factions, about ten minutes a run.
The short version is that the item system got rebuilt from the floor up, the run got
an ending, and then the whole thing got a pass on how it feels to watch.

Every Legendary is forged now

None of them are sold. Not one. The six that used to show up in the late shop are
craft results now, and their halves are ordinary shop items or the twin forges, so a
Legendary sits two forges deep instead of behind a lucky 9 gold roll. The fishing is for components now. It changes what a late shop is for.

Runs end

Endless is gone. You get crowned at ten wins and the run ends at twelve, in the demo
and in the full game alike. We measured it before pulling it: one person out of nineteen ever got past fifteen
wins, and his round 20 board was doing 43 times the damage of a normal one. That is
not a game mode, thats a place where the numbers stop meaning anything.

Items say exactly what they do

Weapons used to get a hidden 35% bonus when the class fit the unit. It never showed
up anywhere you could read it, and honestly nobody cares whether a lich is holding a
sword. Its gone. An item gives you what its tooltip says, on anyone.Every item also asks one clear question of your backpack now instead of a hundred and
twelve different ones, and no item asks for a tag it already carries. Two copies
answering each other was a purchase, not a puzzle.Set bonuses are retired. 0.55% of runs ever lit one.

Duplicates are free

A synergy counts every copy of a unit you field, not just the first. Six Footmen is
six toward the trait. It makes stacking one unit a real plan instead of something the
rules quietly refused. The shop pushes back instead: every copy you already own makes that unit rarer on the
shelf, so going wide on one body costs rolls rather than being blocked outright.

Armor actually scales

Flat armor was keeping 3% of a big hit and 25% of a small one, which is backwards.
Its a share now, so armor means the same thing at every damage level.

The rivals stopped folding

Past round ten the bundled rivals used to melt in about three seconds. They carry
deeper gear, their commander skill goes army wide, and they keep growing where they
used to stop. Late fights run four to five seconds now with the occasional genuine
upset, which is what they were supposed to do.

And it got a feel pass

A revived unit used to blink out and come back by growing from small to full size.
Nothing about that read as dying and returning. Now he comes apart on the killing
blow like any other body, and heaves back out of the ground with the earth thrown up
around him.Pick a unit up in the shop and it hangs from your hand: the feet lag behind while you
drag, and it swings back and settles when you stop. Right-click one, in your hand or
standing on the board, and it takes a swing. Hover a synergy line and the units that
count toward it light up, front rank first, so you can see what the number is made of.Slow motion stopped overruling the pause button, which it had been doing in three
separate ways. A killing blow far bigger than the body it lands on now throws that
body further. Arrows that miss sail past and fade out, instead of stopping dead in
mid air just behind the unit that ducked.

The rest, quickly

  • Highcrest legendaries learned three new tricks: a taunt, a blind, and holy ground that stays where you put it

  • Bows went from ten neutral ones down to three, and the interesting verbs went to the factions that actually field archers

  • Scaling items print their live number instead of a percentage you work out yourself

  • Matchmaking draws from a much wider pool, and beating far weaker opponents pays almost nothing, so ratings converge instead of running away

  • The fight log reaches the game-over screen, so the death that ended your run gets an explanation

  • A Large text option in Settings, on by default on Steam Deck

  • Warpack has its own typeface now, and text stays sharp at every size

  • Twelve new profile colours that belong to no faction, five more borders, and CUSTOMISE is a real button

  • The FIGHT button is painted artwork instead of a coloured rectangle

Full notes are in the game: WHAT'S NEW, bottom right corner. If something reads wrong, say so. A good half of this list is here because somebody
did.
