Hey everyone, friendly community manager Paige here!
Now that the game has (finally) been announced, we'll be hoping to put out some dev blogs (as well as our annual Cassette Beasts Showcase video!) which will spotlight the various new features of the game. We’ve got lots of fun things lined up for you all - and one of them is that Cassette Beasts 2002 will be playable for the first time at Gamescom 2026 this August.
If you don’t know, Gamescom is the biggest gaming event in the world, and is held every year in Cologne, Germany. It’s a huge opportunity for us and we’re super excited for players to get their hands on the game for the first time! If you’re joining us in Cologne, you’ll be able to get your hands on the first ever playable demo for the game, as well as other fun goodies and activities happening over the week that we’ll reveal more about soon!
We’re so excited to bring you a first taste of what’s to come in Cassette Beasts 2002 as well as be able to chat to the fans in-person, and we hope if you’re attending you’ll come and say hello!
Oh, and in the mean-time, we have a brand new Tiktok account where we’ll be sharing clips of CB2002 and so on, so give us a follow if you use that app!
(we had an account previously but lost access to it, so this is the new one, R.I.P.)
Across the last few weeks, we’ve been spotlighting some of our new beasts on our Twitter, BlueSky and Subreddit. Here’s a couple of the ones we’ve shown so far!
Beast Spotlight #1: Anjelly
Element: Water
The kindly Anjelly is something of a self-proclaimed medic. They cultivate medicinal fluids in their organ sacs that they are able to inject into wounded beasts with their needle-like tails.
Beast Spotlight #2: Newtpolitan
Element: Ice
The Newtpolitans attracts potential prey with its syrupy scent and bright, appealing colouring. Any unlucky beast who takes a lick, however, will find its tongue frozen to its ice-cold skin - and at the mercy of the Newtpolitan’s unquenchable appetite.
Beast Spotlight #3: Griffiñata
Element: Beast
Griffiñatas are commonly rumoured to be full of confectionary treats that will spill out of them if beaten - unfortunately for them, this is 100% true. Over the years, they have evolved razor sharp talons to protect themselves from potential beatings.
Thank you as always for your incredible support on the game so far, and be sure to please wishlist if you haven’t already - it helps us more than you can imagine. Until next time!
