(So uh this update came out like a month ago. I (typ) have been working on the Items 2.0 update with every single free moment i've had since. It's done now, and in the QA phase, so it should also be coming out this week. But in case you haven't played in the last month because you didn't see anything new posted here for awhile... my bad. i may have been hyper-focused for awhile. a long while. But it turned out really really good!
The Items 2.0 Update should be coming out later this week! See you there.)
Something is standing in the Tavern from Friday 00:00 UTC to Monday 00:00 UTC, every week. He is not interested in your gold or platinum, and his will is not his own.
Hallowed Hunt, Krampus, Easter, Valentines, Typ's Trip, and Anniversary gear are all in his rotation. Missed Halloween? Missed Christmas two years running? He remembers, and he marked you naughty.
Base listings cost silver plus a relic piece. The silver price is rolled fresh every weekend (6,000-12,000) and the relic piece is drawn from the full relic pool, so the same item is a different ask week to week.
Base listings roll their affix like a natural drop - HATED characters can pull HATED affixes off him.
Attuned listings: when a ware can roll its event's affixes, Noctis also sells an attuned version with one of those event affixes already attached. Same silver, plus a relic piece, plus a random Special/Unique item as tribute.
One of each per account, per visit. Stock rotates when he leaves.
Isolation Characters can purchase and use these items as well! Good luck PPEs.
(dev note: the idea here is that holdiday equipment shouldn't be dead content for 11 months of the year. Hopefully with this, PPEs and any future seasonal mode characters are allowed to access these funky uniques. The shop is deliberately expensive and deliberately random. Noctis is not a catalogue, he is just guy. I think.)
The Old East has a new champion, that's not the Champion, and he brought friends.
An anchored 360-degrees-per-second axe swirl that ignores terrain. It does not fly - it orbits you. 6 tile diameter, 321-503 damage, IP 37.
Impermanence has always been client authoritative, and we knew that couldn't last.
Repeated ABUSIVE disconnects will result in the character losing the Impermanence Totem and it's HATED status.
We have an internal logging / calculation to determine which disconnects are abusive or legitimate, and we haven't had any false removals yet, so it seems to be working well enough :)
Start typing a / in chat and the game now tells you what exists, what it wants, and what goes where.
The command's usage renders inline in the chat box as dim ghost text, it's like Minecraft.
Tab accepts, Enter sends. Esc and controller B dismiss the dropdown without unfocusing chat.
Multi-word arguments work. Item names with spaces, ban reasons, all of it.
Desktop only for now; the plumbing is platform-neutral so a mobile version can reuse it when we circle back.
Like really, from the ground up. I wouldn't even know where to start with the bullet points, but just know it's quite good now :) Please stop complaining about rolling aim assist affixes :prayge: :sunglas:
Isolation Gem Bank - private, upgradable gem storage for Isolation characters, purchased with your character's silver.
(typ note: this is bugged. its less bugged in Items 2.0 so look forward to that!)
Audio output device selection
Chat font size is now its own option, separate from the chat widget's scale - so you can fit more text in a box you've sized yourself
Undo/redo in the HUD editor, plus better drop-point detection and hotkey gating while editing
Controller bindings for Party Summon and Accept Summon - Layer 2 shoulders by default (LB summons, RB accepts)
Party summon now drops a world icon so you can see where you're being pulled to
Dropdown-style options in the Options menu, starting with the audio pages
/guild command family - guild actions are their own namespace now instead of living on bare /leave
Added a bunch of new enemy behavior tech!
Added attainments for Pedipalp and Bubble Terror
Mana regen buffed to 0.13 MP/sec per Wisdom (1.3x). At 70 Wisdom that's 7.0 -> 9.1 MP/sec, refilling a full bar in ~38s instead of ~50s. Blessed is untouched and still a flat addend on top.
Name styling pass. HATED now appears as a visual effect on top of whatever color a player's name should be otherwise
Enemy movement interpolation was once-overed
Keys can only be used in safe areas
Hallowed Head's second transform linger is re-enabled. Its damage was always balanced around both lingers overlapping; the revert was broken (see Fixes) so it had been disabled.
The Big Special's projectiles are now anchored
Ominus manasteal reduced (18% chance / 7% -> 10% chance / 5%)
Mana-on-kill can no longer roll on Masks
Isolation loopholes closed.
( typ note: >:( )
Isolation spendable score is a real character wallet.
Crafted items now roll affixes
Toggle Hide Players is now a configurable button in the mobile layout
Item tooltips now show the correct range for orbiting/curving projectiles
Enemy behavior timings now hit their authored period. There were many instances of there being a full tick gap before some behaviors were supposed to fire / would actually be received, limiting the pace of some technical timings.
(typ note: this is where the flesh "bug" came from, it really just reached its true form. it will still get a SLIGHT tone down in the Items 2.0 Update)
Polarity Pole's sub-50%-mana proc had its damage output corrected.
Tempest's was mad broken like three times over my bad.
Fixed the shield count shown on other players.
Fixed a previous character's backpack items reappearing when switching characters or worlds
Fixed a client crash rendering essence popups for empty slots
Fixed over-bright bloom on OpenGL -
Fixed the panning tile seams on OpenGL - the ~1px tear that ran along every tile boundary on moving surfaces
Fixed the "No Characters" bug
Fixed the party list losing its scroll position when a member joins or leaves
Fixed class unlock states not updating live in character create
Fixed the Dominion minimap pre-reveal
Fixed the boss health bar's teleport chip position
Fixed controller navigation firing on menus in the background
Windows focus handling: a 400ms grace on OS focus loss so a transient blip doesn't eat your input, and invisible/zero-size windows (overlays) no longer count as stealing focus
More. Lets be honest there's always more. Getting stuff in > documenting it sorry <3
Appreciate you guys still hanging around so deep into this patch, this next patch is going to be one of the biggest structural changes the game has seen thus far. Setting us up for even more stuff to come! The game's evolution is looking bright.
As always:
