Hi, everyone. Welcome to another week's developer's diary.
As you may have figured out in the daily update logs, the progress of this week is relatively slow. Because many things happened in real life. What does real life look like?
25 years ago today, a coordinated series of suicide attacks perpetrated by the Islamic terrorist organization al-Qaeda caused more than 5000 families to lose their loved ones.
1 year ago, a woke transgender murderer shot Charlie Kirk.
Real life is filled with loss and sorrow.
Yet, the beauty of humanity is that each time a painful tragedy strikes, we stand more united than ever.
25 years ago, global powers including the US, UK, Germany, France, China, and Russia all joined forces, fighting a war on terror.
1 year after Charlie Kirk's murder, we, the people the lunatic leftists call far-right nazi, (A.K.A, normal people with common sense), have joined forces like never before as well.
In Germany, our fellow "far-right" AfD party just won a tremendous victory.
And they say his name!
So, we echo in return.
This is our United Front!
The woke leftists have no idea how a democratic election works. They keep pushing people to our side and asking why they are losing. A display of their idiocy.
Now, let's get back to the other game content of this week.
In the main story, to get access to Councilor-02's office, you will need to solve a puzzle first.
Previously, there have been many clues about the Councilor's identity. Now, here is one more right when you enter his office.
There is a large chunk of content ahead that I don't have time to put in the game this week. That's the transition from the end of Chapter 3 to Chapter 4. Delay is expected in this industry; the schedule is unchanged. We will get there on time.
Meanwhile, although this week's development time is highly fragmented, I've improved several smaller systems whenever I could.
The entry to Venice looked boring, with just a simple black screen. So, we now have a new cutscene instead.
We got the garlic as a new ingredient. So now we shall expand our recipes with it.
Italian food is still the priority as we are in Venice.
But you can call it the developer's bias when I also added some Chinese food.
In China, food safety is always a hot topic. So sometimes, a host will treat guests to a light meal like this with few to no condiments or suspicious chemicals to show their honesty. It's also more in harmony with nature. You can easily tell the meat's quality by simply tasting it.
And of course, you can basically fry any vegetables with garlic.
Honesty can sometimes be a luxury. We live in a world full of lies and hypocritical people. Even Kojima, who wrote more than 30 years of stories about the Cold War, espionage, and betrayal, could not see Sony's treacherous backstabbing.
What can we do in this game?
You can now detect a person's faith outside of battles.
It will not tell you if a person is lying. But it can give you more clues.
That shall make this skill more useful even when you are not directly fighting an enemy.
Now, talking about skills. The "favorited skill" system has been broken for quite a while. It was also very buggy. That ends today.
The system has been upgraded with various improvements, such as you can now set favorited skills in battles. All known bugs have been fixed, such as removed skills still appearing on the list. This is a quality-of-life improvement, as at the current stage of the game, you may have learned a few dozen skills suitable for all kinds of situations. It's important to have a short-listed, favorited skills you use quite often at the top of the list, above other skills.
That's for this week. Councilor-02 is waiting, and I am not going to let him wait too long.
