Hello dice goblins! We're more than a week into our playtest and the results have been incredible. We had hundreds of players playing Roll for Order for the first time and we're thrilled to announce that the feedbacks we have been receveing are incredibly good!THE PLAYTESTAlmost 200 people completed our feedback form and more than 85% of players have voted 4⭐/5 and 5⭐/5, with the remaining of votes being mostly 3 out of 5.Our average score currently is 4.15/5.0! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

But this is far from meaning that we're done with it. We listened carefully to every single feedback and over the past week we have been releasing many patches that have fixed some of the biggest issues players have encountered when playing Roll for Order. Here's a list of just some of the quality of life and improvements that we have done since the start of the playtest:- Increased the default carried dice from 4 to 5 across all classes

- Slightly increased walking speed
- Some classes now can increase even more their inventory capacity
- Improved abilities to make them more effective (more on this will come as well)

- Introduced new visual feedbacks/text when an ability isn't effective. You get reminded why that ability is not effective if you try to use it in the wrong way

- Increased default brightness to make the environment less dark

- Made the carper brighter so it's less likely to hide dice

- Made dice bigger so they are easier to grab and easier to spot

- Added MANY new settings: Vsync, Crouch toggle, Zoom Toggle, FOV, Disable/Enable Avatar Visuals, Brightness slider and more.

- Added dice icons in the UI to make it easier to understand which dice goes where

- Added a 'Reset loose dice' option to make the loose dice appear at their original position (No more missing the latest dice!)

And much, much more..

THE DEMO
We're just getting started though as we are now full steam ahead to work on our upcoming Demo, so here's a sneak peak of what we have been doing behind the scenes. One of the thing we wanted to make sure since the beginning was to give a clear path to players that want to play and complete the game without abilities. For this reason we thought about a new special class called 'The Squire' . The squire doesn't have active abilities but only a single passive ability that grants you more carriable dice and an increased passive speed across the board, and that's it. You'll be free to pick every single dice with a single useful passive enhancement and then you'll be able to play at your own pace!New 'powerless' class: The squire

New items: Golden KeysIn our demo we will introduce a new interactable item: The golden keys. Those keys will be quite rare and they will be required to open some display cases that will be locked otherwise. It's a small environmental puzzle that we feel it gives something cool to find and reward those players that explore carefully the basement. Each key can be used to open a single display case, once used the key is gone and you will need to find a new one to open the remaining closed closets. We plan to make this a small addition to the overall experience and not something that will take too much attention away from the core gameplay of the game, but we think it can adds to the whole experience!Golden Key

New items: Audio CassettesAnother upcoming interactable object are the audio cassettes. You'll be able to find them scattered across the basement and insert them inside the stereo. Once you insert an audio cassette into the radio you unlock a new music and you'll be able to cycle through all the ones you found during your gameplay So once again you can customize your sorting experience with different music.

Besides those new additions, we are also working on to improve and make the game full gamepad controller supported which also means the experience on the Steam Deck should be a lot better as well as changing how we assign ability points which will be based on the amount of sorted dice and not the amount of completed rows anymore. As you can see our intention with Roll for Order has never been to just release a generic sorting game and call it a day. We wanted to make something unique with enough interactions and cool things to do beyond the main sorting gameplay so that you and your friends can have a cozy experience in it. And that's the same philosophy that made us add a playable arcade machine into the basement (more on this in a coming devblog!)I hope you guys are excited as we are and we can't wait to have you all on our next major iteration of Roll for Order with our upcoming demo. More info and announcement on the release of the demo very soon!A big thank you to all playtesters that have helped us so far, we're getting closer and we couldn't do it without you! That's all for now.See you in the basement everybody!Andrea
