Early Access Update 3 — Shoplifting, Information Board & Store Improvements

Update 3 adds shoplifting, security sensors, a new in-world Information Board and several improvements across customers, shelves, VR performance and general store activity.

Shoplifting and Security Sensors

  • Customers can now attempt to leave the shop with an unpaid product.

  • Taking the stolen product confronts the customer.

  • Shoplifters may flee or take the product back and join the checkout line to pay.

  • Added purchasable door security sensors, unlocked at Store Level 15 for $450.

  • Sensors flash red, sound an alarm and make escaping shoplifters hurry toward the exit.

  • Customers who agree to pay will not trigger the alarm.

New Information Board

  • Added an in-world Information Board inside the shop.

  • Browse the existing help topics without opening the pause menu.

  • Use Up and Down to select topics and move between pages.

  • Use Select to open a topic and Back to return to the topic list.

  • Improved text size, alignment and title scaling for better VR readability.

Customer Improvements

  • Added movement-based customer footsteps.

  • Added matched speaking animations during queue, checkout and refund dialogue.

  • Improved cleanup when customers are grabbed, attacked or struck by traffic.

  • Customers now correctly release carried products, baskets and bags when interrupted.

  • Fixed fleeing customers sometimes remaining at the edge of the map.

  • Moving vehicles now kill customers on impact, while stationary vehicles allow them to fall and recover.

  • Improved customer recovery positioning after traffic impacts.

Store and Shelf Improvements

  • Added a visible SHOP DAY counter beneath the main store clock.

  • Fixed loaded stock crates returning to the wrong snap-on shelf tier.

  • Improved restoration of shelf products and price information after loading.

  • Fixed empty snap-on shelf tickets remaining in price-change mode.

  • Empty tickets now correctly offer Clear Shelf.

  • Street pedestrians now begin appearing shortly after the shop opens.

VR and Performance

  • Disabled the additional 1080p spectator-camera render during normal play.

  • Normal VR gameplay now uses the standard desktop mirror, reducing unnecessary GPU workload.

  • Improved shelf-ticket clarity and reduced movement shimmer in VR.

Thanks to everyone who has reported issues and provided feedback. More performance-focused improvements are planned for Update 4.
