Hi everyone,
New optional compact Steam branches are now available for users who are not interested in local voice cloning and would prefer CielChan to take up less space/memory on their device. These branches reduce CielChan’s download and installed size from 28 GB to roughly 16 GB while retaining its core assistant, chat, tools, multilingual interface, high quality voices and other standard features.
The compact branch includes the high-quality Kokoro voice option, while RVC HQ voices remain available for languages not supported by Kokoro.
To switch branches, open Steam Library → right-click CielChan → Properties → Betas, then choose compact or compact2. Steam will download the selected branch. Your current assistant remains fully compatible, with no migration required when switching between branches. Ensure Chatterbox, PocketTTS are disabled if you're coming from the default main build.
