Major Update - The Bell

NEED: No End · published 4 Jun 2026, 17:38 UTC

Before we dive into the depths of this update, I wish to say a sincere thank you to everyone who played the demo, shared feedback, left a comment, joined a stream, made a video, or simply wishlisted. Every bit of it shapes what comes next.

Alongside the fixes, improvements, and refinements, this update brings a new system. The Bell. The largest addition to NEED: No End since the Legacy System.

There is a lot to share, a lot to cover. Let's get into it.

THE BELLThe weather has always been there. The clouds, the frost, the heat, the rain. It was always present, but until now, it had no consequence beyond the visual. That changes with the Bell.

Weather is now a functional system in the realm. Every forecast, every temperature shift, every season carries meaning. Rain, snow, heat, overcast skies, blizzards, each one affects specific stations in specific ways, and the Bell is what stands between the realm and what the weather takes from it. Read the forecast. Understand the season. Decide what the realm needs before the sky decides for you.

The Bell is built. The realm is protected. Or is it?BELL TRIBUTE

At the heart of the Bell is the Tribute. Each dawn, the realm asks. Answer it consistently and the Bell's protection grows. Miss it and the Streak breaks.

The Streak is the Bell's memory. Five steps, each one a mark of commitment to the realm. Reach the top and the realm remembers. Let it slip and it forgets just as quickly.

Auto-Pay removes the burden of remembering. Once unlocked, the Tribute pays itself if the realm holds the resources at dawn. Whether paid by hand or paid automatically, the realm does not care. Only that it is paid.

BELL PRODUCTIONThe Bell does not stand alone. Its depth is tied to the Maester's Hall. The more advanced the Maester Worker training across the realm, the more the Bell gives back.

The Production tab shows what the Bell currently offers and what comes next. Three levels. Each one earned through Maester progression. Each one bringing more Star Dust per dawn and more Extra Resources per tick.

Star Dust is a new resource and it is a rare one. The Bell is one of the few places it can be earned. What it unlocks elsewhere in the realm is worth finding out.
BELL WEATHERThe Weather tab shows which stations are affected by the current weather and what that means for each one. Buffed, debuffed, or unaffected. As conditions shift, the status updates.

The tab does not predict. It reports. The forecast does the predicting. DEV - Additions, Improvements and Balancing the experience - Maester's Hall build cost reduced significantly, making it more accessible earlier in the run - Maester Worker training recipes rebalanced across all levels for better reachability
- Trap yield timing reduced, with a randomized window keeping each trap yield meaningful
- Silo has a revised behaviour
- Floating numbers above production stations now reflect the full station output, including Extra Resources from the Bell and bonuses from assigned Maester Workers. What is shown is what the station is actually producing.
- The Trader now has a third location on the map. When he arrives, explore the map and find him. (*try not to miss any corners) - Trader now brings a new resource - Star Dust. - Score system recalibrated across all categories for more balanced and realistic output
- Localization extended across all new Bell and Realm Panel strings for DE, ES, ES Lat Am, and IT.UI

The Realm Sustainability Panel has been added, a new widget that tracks progress toward the self-sustained end goal. Every action taken in the realm contributes. Station upgrades, Maester Worker training, weather protection, decay mitigation, and more. The panel reflects where the realm stands and whether it still needs attention before it becomes self-sustained. QoL Let's address the elephant in the room first. The night being too dark was mentioned more than once. Noted, and addressed once more. Cloudy nights now have increased brightness as a default, without affecting the overall atmospheric scenery, while the full customization is still available in Options - Display Settings for those who prefer a darker atmosphere.- Onboarding widget behavior has been improved for a smoother and more consistent experience across all first-time encounters.
- Hints can now be disabled directly from the onboarding widget. Once disabled, they will not appear again until re-enabled from the Options - Misc tab.

BUG FIXES

- Silo decay rate has been revised and now its decay rate applies correctly
- Trader inventory has been recalibrated based on Bond level
- Trader menu has been correctly tied to Trader leaving the realm
- Bakery recipe now correctly displays all required ingredients
- House notification no longer triggers incorrectly when building
- Low bread dramatic audio now cuts off promptly once bread recovers
- Minor bug fixes and stability improvements______The Bell rings. The realm listens. What comes next will be worth the wait.

May your realms stay thriving and your mind stay sharp.
