This update brings Surge 1.6, major improvements to Multi Frame Generation, new scene change controls in Studio, and several important Vulkan Fast fixes.
Multi Frame Generation has been improved to deliver a much smoother and cleaner result across higher multipliers.
Motion is now evenly paced across generated frames, making higher multipliers feel smoother and less choppy.
Greatly reduced ghosting and double images on fast-moving objects such as weapons, hands, and vehicles.
HUD elements and on-screen text now remain sharper and more stable in multi-frame modes.
Image quality at higher multipliers has improved by up to 46%.
No change to performance cost.

The maximum multiplier is now 16×, down from 24×.
Higher multipliers are capped for now to keep image quality consistent. Plan to revisit higher multipliers in a future update.
2× mode is unchanged.
Studio now holds real frames during scene changes instead of blending two different shots together.
Scene change detection has also been improved. Flashes, explosions, and fast camera movements are now less likely to be incorrectly detected as scene cuts.
You now have full control over detected scene changes.
When you press Render, Studio shows every scene change it detected, including the frame immediately before and after each cut.
From there, you can:
Untick incorrectly detected scene changes.
Review exactly where frames will be held before rendering.
Once rendering finishes, the same list shows exactly where scene changes were held.
You can then use Edit scene changes to make adjustments and render the video again.
On newer AMD GPUs, the Vulkan Fast backend could display flickering blue blocks inside generated frames, primarily on Linux. These artifacts could also appear in videos rendered through Studio.
The issue was caused by a mismatch between how DraFG fast AMD path expected the GPU workload to be divided and how AMD's Linux driver handled that workload.
DraFG now explicitly tells the driver how to execute this work, resolving the blue block artifacts.
If you previously added FGEN_VKF_NO_COOPMAT=1 to your Steam launch options, please remove it.
This workaround is no longer required and disables the fast path on supported GPUs, resulting in slower frame generation.
After completing a render, clicking Choose another video could cause DraFG to freeze completely.
File pickers throughout Studio should now open reliably.
On systems with multiple GPUs, such as a CPU with integrated graphics alongside a dedicated graphics card, Vulkan Fast could sometimes generate frames using the integrated GPU instead of the dedicated GPU.
Vulkan Fast will now correctly use the intended graphics card.
