We’re excited to share the first bigger update of our Demo 🎉
Accessibility, Performance and QoL
Thank you to everyone sending feedback our way! 🤗 Before moving on to new features, we focused on performance, accessibility and QoL improvements.
Game pacing
We have received feedback that the tutorial and progression was overwhelming, throwing too many things at you at once. That makes sense as the demo was very much balanced for exhibition scenarios, where players want to experience the game quickly. In this update, we changed the pacing to be as relaxing as we want the game to be.
Accessibility
This is especially important to us and we’re very thankful that you shared your feedback and did not walk away when the game wouldn’t allow you to be played comfortably!
The things we added:
Increased default font sizes for small text and added UI-scaling in the settings
Added keybinding remapping and a list of controls in the settings
Separated build and play mode sensitivity settings to fine tune the different interactions
UI support for desktops with varying (i.e. non-16:9) resolutions
Performance improvements
Some of you experienced a very low FPS when playing the game. We had a look at the hardware used to play the game and added some optimizations and graphic presets to cater for different machines. Hopefully, that should allow playing the game smoothly on most machines.
Quality of Life
To make building your beautiful ranch easier, we added two more features based on the feedback was shared with us:
In the building mode, there is a new “move building” tool. No more delete and rebuild
When placing an item, you can now zoom the camera for better visibility. Rotating a building is now done by holding LMB and moving the mouse, instead of using the mouse wheel.
Bug fixes
We hopefully fixed the sheep’s jaw being scarily deformed after the initial sheep bleat at the start of the game. Let us know if this is still happening!
The camera and player movement should always be smooth and without stutter now.
What’s next
We’re currently working on a new building that allows you to dress up your sheep. They will be extremely happy about a range of accessories and customizations to wear 😍
