Hey Adventurer!

Here for Party-Based RPG Fest? Get your trio ready! Cave of Many Dreams opens this week. Start leveling your own 3 characters, find them some gear, and get them fighting together before it opens.

Adventure Land is part of Steam's Party-Based RPG Fest, September 14–21. You choose the classes, equipment and CODE for every character in your party. Start manually or with the working default CODE, and build from there.

Cave of Many Dreams opens this week

From the Cave of Many Dreams comic. There was a warning.

Dorr is about to open a door in Mainland. What's behind it won't be quite the same on your next visit.

Cave of Many Dreams is a new roguelike dungeon, arriving this week. Bring a party of up to 3 characters. Each account gets 1 run per day, shared by its characters. Once inside, you have 24 minutes to find your way through three floors.

Someone needs rescuing. Two strangers are already fighting. Do you help, pick a side, or leave them to it? Your party votes on what to do. Some survivors will fight beside you further down. Others might make you regret helping them.

Someone will tell you not to pull a red chain. It opens the pens of six level 100 wolves. You can pull it anyway. Or try your luck at the dice table, hire a stranger, and find a way past the next guardroom without a fight. You won't have time for everything.

A few things to bring back from the Cave of Many Dreams.

Locktooth, Counterweight, Mothstep Boots and Loaded Die are among the new finds. Bring Cave Amber back to Cole to craft them, too. There are also two rare weapons, Nightjudge and Last Word. Finding their owners is only part of the problem.

You can make these choices by hand, or let your CODE read the encounter and cast your character's vote. There's rather more to think about here than picking the nearest monster.

Get your party ready while the door is still closed! Sort out your equipment, try your characters together, and leave a little room in those bags.

What should I work on next?

The new Progression Guide is nearly ready. It looks at your character and equipment, then suggests useful farms, equipment projects and opportunities worth a look. Open INFO to see the next step and where to get what you're missing.

The Progression Guide uses your character's equipment and goals. This is one example.

Early goals help fighters build toward 1,000 Attack, Priests toward 1,000 Healing, and Merchants toward a stocked shop. Later, choose an item, a set, a gold target or an encounter to work toward. That pile of materials in your bank might finally have a purpose.

Your CODE can read the same advice with get_progression(). You still choose the goal and what to spend; the guide helps you find a way there.

Something is stirring in Frozen Cove

Rime Djinn and the new finds coming to Frozen Cove.

Rime Djinn are coming to the central island, beyond the Harpies. Bring company. When a Djinn begins forming its shell, your party has a short chance to break it before it sends ice flying at the people fighting it.

Look for Rimeglass, Djinn Crown, Cove Mantle and Stillwater Lens, along with Essence of Frost and, very rarely, The Frozen Cave Key. Leo can craft the three pieces of equipment from Rimeglass and other materials, so you'll have something to work toward between lucky drops.

Damage, tanking and healing all count toward the cooperative rewards and Tracker progress. Bring the character your party needs.

Call the Cavalry!

Tracktrix will let you call for help. The Cavalry answers calls across the server.

Tracktrix is getting a new way to ask for help: Call the Cavalry! A Warrior, Priest, Mage and Paladin can come to your aid against nearby monsters. They fight, heal and support you, and the usual player rewards still apply.

They're shared across the server. When several fights need help, they split up, with lower-level callers getting priority. A little backup can make a big difference when you're still finding your feet.

The plan is also to make Tracktrix directly available to newcomers. Monster records, drop information and achievement progress should be things you can explore from the start, not something you discover much later.

More dates to look forward to

A few of the things still to come. Watch the calendar for their arrival.

An upcoming events calendar is on the way too, so you can see what's ahead and plan a visit with your party. There are many more events planned beyond this week's additions.

Keep an eye out for Daily Adventures, the witch's secrets, Werdars' Level Awards, and whatever is gathering offshore in The Black Wake. Those are for another visit. This week, there's a cave to explore.

For now, get your party ready for Cave of Many Dreams. I'll let you know when Dorr opens the door. See you in-game!
