Hello, captains! The new Songs of the Shoals Steam Playtest is now open to everyone. Pack your fishing rod and set out from your home harbor for a small island adventure.

What is in this test?

  • Six islands to explore.Visit the home island and five refined destinations, including a lighthouse reef, a mangrove estuary, a crescent lagoon, a sandy islet, and a harbor hidden inside a cavern. Look for landing spots and enjoy a different view along each shoreline.
  • 24 real fish species.Updated models and swimming animations give your catches and coastal encounters more character.
  • A new nautical notebook HUD.Sailing, fishing, and task information have been reorganized to keep the view of the sea clear.
  • A complete fishing trip.Fish from shore or a stopped boat, return to port with your catch, sell fish, complete commissions, improve your equipment, and choose where to go next.

How to join

Visit this game's Steam store page and click Request Access in the Playtest section. Registration is open and access is granted automatically. Returning testers can update Songs of the Shoals Playtest in their Steam library.

This test is available for Windows, with English and Simplified Chinese interfaces, and takes about 630 MiB of disk space. This round uses a separate save profile, so your first launch begins a new voyage.

Tell us about your voyage

We would love feedback on catching your first fish, finding your way between islands, HUD readability, and sailing performance. If something goes wrong, please share the steps, location, and your PC specifications in the Steam discussions. Screenshots are welcome too.

Thank you for taking the game out for a test sail. We hope you return with a good catch and a view you will remember.
