Getting Ready for the Crowd

Hello everyone! Another month, another devlog. This month, we’ve been focusing on small improvements and additions, supporting the ongoing playtest, and preparing for the next big content drop. So, this diary entry will be a bit more chill, just to touch base and let you know what we’ve been up to. There is also some info at the end about an upcoming expo.

  • Playtest Progress

  • Gamescom

  • CatchMaker Trailer Production

  • Upcoming Live Event in Luxembourg

Playtest Progress

We are planning to end the first round of internal testing soon. After that, we’ll go through the feedback and see how we can improve the game. So far, it seems like the tutorial does its job well in showing how to play. We have discovered only a handful of game breaking bugs that we have immediately released hotfixes for.

Gamescom

Some of us had the opportunity to visit the Gamescom with Creative Europe Media. It was super interesting to talk to other developers and publishers about their projects and their experiences. Since this is our first game as a studio and there aren’t many game developers in Luxembourg, it was a great way to get some insights from professionals from all over the world.

CatchMaker Trailer Production

We recently released a new trailer which you can check out here if you haven’t seen it already:

We focused on showing right away what CatchMaker is all about. Aiming to grab attention from the get go, we open on a close-up of an interesting bug (Bob), and then follow it up immediately with action by netting him.

Giving Bob a name gives the critter personality and makes the viewer care a little more about what happens with him next. (You can rename every bug in the game!)Then we present what makes CatchMaker special: it's not just about catching, but also arranging dates for them! If the viewer is still with you at this point, then you have their full attention. Now you can show them what the game has to offer in terms of gameplay and content.

We're very proud of the jump in visual quality the game has made in the past month, so we decided to show off some new (and reworked) biomes. In order to present the content the game has to offer, we also showed a variety of weathers, bugs, as well as ways to facilitate catching them. But we still have a LOT more to show.

We'd like to thank Flo Morgan for the voiceover. Giving Loddie a voice helped us tremendously in telling our story. Make sure to check her work out at

And just like Bob’s, every story has the chance to have a happy ending in CatchMaker.   :)

Upcoming Live Event in Luxembourg

We’ll be taking CatchMaker to the POP Gaming Festival on September 19-20 in Luxembourg. Come say hi and get hands-on with an exclusive demo of the game!

So let’s get right into it! Red Bug, Green Bug Since catching bugs makes up a big part of the gameplay we wanted to make the mechanic a bit more engaging. So we implemented a “red light, green light” system. When approaching a bug, an eye icon w…Community2 Jun 2026The Dating Bar (not the kind with drinks)Hello, future entomologists! It’s time for another quick update on CatchMaker. Aside from trying to get some funding, we have been rethinking the way we approach dating, so let’s get right into it! Dating Reworked We felt the date UI wasn’t giving the player sufficient information. While you could gain a general sense of how the date was going, it was hard to understand why it was going that wa…
