Added

  • A tutorial. Pick TUTORIAL on the main menu for a ten-minute training shift on your own: a small, quiet mine with no monsters that walks you through every control and the whole day, one thing at a time. Moving, the lamp, sprinting and crouching, the door, pipe crates and loose pipe, the extractor, planting it, the wrench and the grinder, laying a line, the glow stick, the pipe bomb, pulling crates, hauling them to the elevator, gold scrap, the smog and your mask, the decoy, the shutdown lever and the ride out.
  • It teaches the between-days screens too. After the ride up you get the real day report, the job board and the shop, each with a short guided tour, and you buy an upgrade with the money you just hauled. It all happens on a practice company. Your real save is never touched.
  • Lessons that stop the clock. The first time you do something, the game pauses on a short note pointing at the thing it's about on your HUD: stamina after your first sprint, the lamp battery, the air readout, your belt, and so on. Click OKAY or press Enter to carry on. ESC still opens the menu.
  • Arrows and a trail. The tutorial marks whatever the current step wants with an orange arrow, and draws a dashed trail along the floor to it the way you'd actually walk, not a straight line through rock.
  • You step up onto small lips now. Walking into a low threshold or ledge pops you up onto it instead of stopping you dead. Pipe runs across the floor still need a jump.
  • Backslash toggles the FPS readout, same as F8.

Changed

  • The end-of-day report looks like the rest of the terminal. Same screen, same type, same telemetry column as the menus, and the buttons are text lines like everywhere else.
  • Your name is your Steam name. The crew name box is gone from the main menu. What you're called in the lobby and above your head is pulled from Steam.
  • The "Steam online" line is gone from the main menu. It only speaks up now if Steam is closed, since hosting needs it.
  • The elevator readout just says ELEVATOR ARMED. The long instruction that used to follow it is gone. The lever's own prompt says the rest.

Fixed

  • Everyone was called "Player". Leaving the crew name box blank named you Player, and nearly everyone left it blank. Steam names come through now.

Game update16 Sep 2026September 15th ChangelogAdded · The controls show up when you need them. Swap to a tool or pick something up and a short line appears above your belt telling you what it does, then fades. It shows your own keys, so if you have rebound anything it says the key you actually use. The wrench also reminds you of your flashlight key. · Lights in the room outside the elevator. The square room you walk into now has four strip…Game update14 Sep 2026September 14th ChangelogChanged · Crates are much faster to make. The meter on the fab now fills in five seconds, whatever the size of your crew. It used to take ten seconds or more. · Extractors pump ore twice as fast to keep up with the faster fab. Each patch still holds all twelve crates' worth of ore. It just runs dry in about a minute of steady pumping instead of two. · Macerators and furnaces work faster too, so…Game update14 Sep 2026September 13th ChangelogAdded · You can find gear in the mine. Some spots that used to hold gold scrap now hold a glow stick, a pipe bomb or a decoy instead. Look for a small coloured glow on the floor: green for a glow stick, orange for a bomb, blue for a decoy. Walk over it to pick it up. You keep it for the next day. This never happens on a Scrap Run or in the training shift. · The shop shows the rent. The top of t…
