August 30th Patch Notes

Fixed

  • Loot no longer spawns inside walls. Loose pipes, pipe crates, scrap and bear traps had stopped avoiding obstacles entirely — they'd been dropping into pillars, props and rock. They now land on clear floor again.
  • Thrown pipe crates no longer punch through tunnel walls. A crate thrown point-blank could pass straight through a bore wall and end up on the far side.
  • Scrap no longer gets glued to your hands. You could end up holding a hunk you couldn't throw, stow or drop for the rest of the run.
  • Items no longer freeze inside a fully connected pipe line. A line could stall partway to the fab with everything lit and running, and breaking the pipes only spilled some of it. Lines now unstick themselves.
  • Your mic comes back on its own. If it dropped out and got plugged back in, the game never picked it up again — even re-selecting it in Settings did nothing.
  • Fixed a hitch when the Lighthouse or the Listener arrives. Their models were loading on the frame they spawned, every single time.
  • Hosting without Steam now tells you why instead of dropping you on a black screen.

Changed

  • You jump higher. Getting over a pipe run used to clear it by about an inch — mostly luck. You can now clear one comfortably, and land on top of one on purpose.
  • Small drops no longer knock you down. Raised alongside the jump, so hopping off your own pipework doesn't ragdoll you.
  • Later days grow more slowly. Deep maps were spreading out faster than they were adding rooms, so you were walking twice as far to reach the same handful of places. Day 15 is about 17% less walking. Day 1 is unchanged.
  • The menu music takes a breather. After five or six loops it fades out, rests, and comes back in.
  • The menu music sounds further away — more like something playing in the next room on an old radio, less like a soundtrack.
  • Voice only transmits when you're actually talking. It used to send constantly whether or not anyone was speaking.
  • The main menu is Steam-only. The Join-by-IP row and address box are gone — everyone plays through Steam invites now.

Added

  • Play Solo. Offline mode was always in the game but had no button. It also means you can still start the game with Steam closed.
  • A frame-hitch log for tracking down the random freezes. Writes to a file in your app data folder that you can send over after a session; one switch strips it for players.

Game update16 Sep 2026September 15th ChangelogAdded · The controls show up when you need them. Swap to a tool or pick something up and a short line appears above your belt telling you what it does, then fades. It shows your own keys, so if you have rebound anything it says the key you actually use. The wrench also reminds you of your flashlight key. · Lights in the room outside the elevator. The square room you walk into now has four strip…Game update14 Sep 2026September 14th ChangelogChanged · Crates are much faster to make. The meter on the fab now fills in five seconds, whatever the size of your crew. It used to take ten seconds or more. · Extractors pump ore twice as fast to keep up with the faster fab. Each patch still holds all twelve crates' worth of ore. It just runs dry in about a minute of steady pumping instead of two. · Macerators and furnaces work faster too, so…Game update14 Sep 2026September 13th ChangelogAdded · You can find gear in the mine. Some spots that used to hold gold scrap now hold a glow stick, a pipe bomb or a decoy instead. Look for a small coloured glow on the floor: green for a glow stick, orange for a bomb, blue for a decoy. Walk over it to pick it up. You keep it for the next day. This never happens on a Scrap Run or in the training shift. · The shop shows the rent. The top of t…
