WinGrid now gives you more control over your game layout, especially in games where 4:3 normally results in black bars.
- Added Layers for radar, killfeed, chat and other HUD elements.
- Select any region of the game screen and turn it into a separate live layer.
- Move, resize and position each layer independently.
- Layer positions and sizes are saved automatically.
- Layers stay above the Thumbnail zoom and remain visible during gameplay.
- Added visual resize handles and cursor hints for easier editing.
- Improved Alt-Tab behavior and fixed an issue where mouse input could remain captured after switching windows.
- Scope, crosshair and Layers hotkeys now work only when the selected game window is focused.
- Sharper and more stable Thumbnail zoom with reduced pixel flickering.
4:3 Layout Workaround
For games where standard 4:3 mode leaves black bars, WinGrid can create an alternative stretched layout:
1. Reduce the game window height, for example from 1920×1080 to 1920×540.
2. Use Thumbnail Zoom to enlarge the central gameplay area.
3. Place the radar, killfeed, chat and other HUD elements separately using Layers.
This allows you to create a custom widescreen layout with enlarged models while keeping important HUD information visible.
Supports compatible windowed and borderless modes on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
