Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg - Ingolstadt is Out Now!

Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg - Ingolstadt is available now, giving you the chance to push the DB BR 403 ICE 3 to its full 300 km/h potential on the fastest German route in Train Sim World to date.

But reaching that headline speed is only part of the story. This release also brings extensive improvements to the ICE 3 and completely new München-Nürnberg-Express rolling stock to master.

A New ICE 3 Experience

The DB BR 403 ICE 3 has undergone a significant overhaul for Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg - Ingolstadt, with extensive work beneath the surface to make driving at 300 km/h more authentic.

Its physics have been completely reworked, including the simulation of amperage limits and newly tuned eddy current braking to more closely replicate the real train.

The Zugbremsmanager, the train's central brake management system, has also been simulated from scratch. This allows the train to react more authentically depending on whether the eddy current brake is being used during normal service braking or reserved for emergency braking.

Other improvements include:

  • Improved AFB simulation

  • Improved coupler functionality

  • New SimuGraph air suspension simulation

  • Significantly expanded and updated cab screens

  • New traction motor sounds

  • New horn sounds

The result is an ICE 3 that not only goes faster than before, but offers a more detailed driving experience while doing it.

New Rolling Stock for the München-Nürnberg-Express

The included München-Nürnberg-Express brings another new experience to Train Sim World.

While based on familiar InterCity rolling stock, both the cab car and former first class coach are complete rebuilds, reflecting the significant differences found on the real München-Nürnberg-Express vehicles.

This means both vehicles are new rolling stock for Train Sim World, rather than simply repurposed versions of the existing InterCity coaches.

Pair them with the included DB BR 101 and take on fast regional operations at speeds of up to 200 km/h, providing a very different challenge from the 300 km/h ICE services.

300 km/h or 200 km/h?

Whether you're pushing the ICE 3 to the limit or taking charge of the München-Nürnberg-Express, the route offers two distinct flavours of German high-speed operation.

Take advantage of the long tunnels, gradients and sweeping curves of the dedicated high-speed line, or tackle regional stops aboard the DB BR 101 formation.

For something different again, head towards Nürnberg and explore the S-Bahn section between Nürnberg Hbf and Feucht.
