Howdy partners!

We have some great news on upcoming early playtest - the dates are set and we are preparing to launch.

Previously, we've mentioned something about the beginning of June not the very last days of the month, but we want to deliver the best product possible to test. And those few weeks will make a huge difference. Thanks for the patience!

Also, it's time for you to meet our bots! You probably know the one that is often on our graphics and screenshots, but it is not alone. He has quite the company of friends with different abilities.

Early Playtest June 25 - July 2

It's official! The Early Playtest will start June 25 and you will be able to play Farmbotic for a whole week. We will end the playtest July 2.

Remember that this is an early playtest! Not all parts of the game are ready and for now we will focus on single player experience.

How to join the early playtest?

Head over to our main Steam store page and click the green "Request Access" button in the Playtest section, just below the screenshots. And hey, while you're over there, we'd be mighty grateful if you added Farmbotic to your Wishlist!

When the time comes, selected players will receive an email notification directly from Steam.

About our Robots

We're super happy to finally, officially introduce them to you all! And they're all ready and rearing to help you out around the farm.

In Farmbotic, you will be able to use 3 types of bots, each responsible for a different part of the farming process: planting, watering, and harvesting. You can easily recognize them by their colors: the planting bot is green, the watering bot is blue, and the harvesting one is orange.

Each bot type comes in 3 tiers, starting out with a simple version and eventually upgrading into a much more capable helper. You can see the difference for yourself right below, with a starter Tier 1 model on the left and a fully upgraded Tier 3 on the right!

Upgrading your bots makes a mighty big difference in the fields. The design is pretty straightforward: with each new tier, your robotic farmhands will work faster, carry a larger inventory, and hold a better charge. This means they can stay out working the land for much longer before needing to head back to their HUB to recharge!

Planting Bots

Ever grown tired of planting crops on empty plots one by one? That’s exactly what planting bots are here for.

After building a planting bot, you’ll need to configure it using the Printool. Open the Planting tab, choose the crop you want the bot to use, and then mark the plots where it should plant. Once everything is set up, the bot will take care of sowing those selected beds for you.

The bot will also remember your setup, so from that point on, it will keep planting the chosen crop in the same marked plots until you decide to change its instructions.

This makes planting much easier to manage, especially once your farm starts growing and you have more fields to keep organized.

Watering Bots

The same goes for watering! No more running around with watering cans once you have a bot ready for the job - with hoses for arms, at that!

Watering bots help keep your crops watered automatically, making them a great partner for planting bots. Once your fields are being planted regularly, watering bots make the next step of crop care much smoother and less hands-on.

Just remember that watering bots still need access to water in order to do their job. Make sure their HUBs are supplied with water, otherwise they will not be able to keep your crops hydrated.

Harvesting Bots

And of course, you can’t have a fully automated farm without a harvesting bot.

Harvesting bots collect crops once they are ready. They patrol your farm, pick up fully grown crops, and bring them back to their HUB, where you can collect the fruits (and vegetables) of their labor.

Set up all three types of bots properly, and your farm can become a neat automation loop: crops are planted, watered, harvested, and prepared for the next cycle with much less manual work from you.
