Hello everyone!
We’re the team behind Zanerdin: The Unbound.
It’s been a while since our first announcement went live alongside our Steam page. We’ve been focused on development, but we haven’t done enough to keep you updated along the way. Thank you for sticking with us, and we’re sorry for the long silence.
Starting with this post, we’ll be sharing a dev diary at least once a month to keep you up to date on our progress and plans.
Today, we’re taking a look at where development stands, introducing the multiplayer modes we’re working on, and sharing some news about an upcoming playtest!
Working Toward Beta
Zanerdin is currently in alpha, and we’re preparing for the transition to beta.
Content implementation and asset production are each approximately 60% complete. Here’s a closer look at our progress:
Main content: Approximately 60% implemented
Playable characters: 12 completed
Monsters: Approximately 60% complete
Side content: Early implementation underway
UI/UX: Improvements in progress
Visuals and presentation: Improvements in progress
Internally, we’re targeting the completion of our current UI/UX and visual improvements as the milestone for entering beta. We’ll continue building out the remaining content and assets as we refine the game.
New Ways to Play Together: Co-op Raids & Friendly PvP
We also have some exciting news: co-op raids and friendly PvP are coming to Zanerdin!
Zanerdin was originally conceived as a single-player game. As development progressed, we wanted to give you the chance to enjoy its battles with friends and other players, too.
We’re currently working on two multiplayer modes:
Co-op Raids: Team up with other players to take on challenging battles.
Friendly PvP: Put your party and strategies to the test in matches against friends or other players.
Both modes will be optional, so you can take part whenever you feel like it. Our goal is to give you more ways to enjoy the game, without making you feel pressured to compete.
These modes are still in development. We’ll take a closer look at how they work in a future dev diary once they’re further along.
Want to Try Zanerdin for Yourself?
We’re preparing to invite players to an upcoming playtest, where you’ll be able to try a development build of Zanerdin and share your feedback with us.
If you’re interested in taking part, join our official Discord or follow us on social media. We’ll share the test schedule and details on how to participate in a future announcement.
Thank you again for following Zanerdin.
We look forward to sharing more of the development journey with you.
See you in the next dev diary!
