Real-Time Multiplayer is Here: Command v1.10 Public Beta Now Live

The wait is over. We are thrilled to announce that the v1.10 Public Beta for Command: Modern Operations is officially live.

This major update introduces one of the most anticipated features in Command history: Real-Time Multiplayer (RTMP).

Whether you want to test your operational skills in intense Player vs Player (PvP) duels or team up with a friend in Cooperative (PvE) mode to control the same side against the AI, RTMP brings a whole new dimension to Command.

Alongside multiplayer integration, the v1.10 update brings a massive wave of engine upgrades, UI refinements, and advanced simulation mechanics.

Here is a quick look at the major highlights:

Real-Time Multiplayer (RTMP)

  • PvP & PvE Cooperative Modes: Go head-to-head against another commander or join forces on the same team to co-manage units, plan strikes, and tackle complex scenarios together against the AI.

  • Live Operational Warfare: Experience dynamic real-time decision-making with shared simulation states, map pings, and dedicated lobby support.

Enhanced Mapping & Visualization

  • Vector OSM Maps: A brand-new map layer using dynamic .pbf vector tiles (found under Top Menu --> View --> OSM Vector Map). Fully customizable via simple JSON styles, offering unprecedented visual flexibility without heavy tile caching.

  • Advanced Relief & Bathymetry: High-resolution coastal bathymetry data (up to 600m depth) powered by EMODNet, designed specifically to enhance submarine warfare planning.

  • APP-6 Icon Set: Added a full APP-6 fourth map icon option for NATO-standard tactical overview.

Tactical & Fleet Management

  • Dedicated Naval Formation Editor: Access a brand-new formation editor via Shift+F4. Seamlessly position escorts around High Value Units (HVUs) and apply standard formation templates on the fly.

  • Limited Sonobuoy Stocks: Realism turned up a notch. Sonobuoys can now be toggled as finite resources rather than infinite stores, requiring careful logistics, transport, and magazine management.

  • Expanded Doctrine Settings: New controls for AI sonobuoy usage, AAW rearward fire, joint-salvo WRA allocation, and guidance-drop rules to maximize missile efficiency.

Improved Simulation Mechanics

  • High-Energy Laser Modeling: Atmospheric absorption, altitude shifts, power-at-impact, and target durability/fragility are now fully modeled for realistic laser engagements.

  • Complete Component Damage Overhaul: A ground-up rework of platform damage logic. System component failures now scale far more realistically as platforms take structural damage.

  • Submarine Cargo Operations: Submarines can now perform full cargo operations near shores, opening up new stealth logistics and special operations possibilities.

How to Join the Public Beta

To opt-in and start testing the v1.10 Beta on Steam:

  1. Right-click Command: Modern Operations in your Steam Library.

  2. Select Properties and navigate to the Betas tab.

  3. Select the public beta multiplayer branch from the dropdown menu to download the build.

RTMP Getting Started Guide & Technical Setup

To help you set up your first multiplayer session, check out the attached updated RTMP Getting Started Guide:

  • Firewall Configuration: When launching RTMP for the first time, make sure to allow Command.exe and CommandHost.exe through both Private and Public profiles in Windows Defender Firewall to prevent connectivity issues.

  • Troubleshooting & Known Issues: Refer to the guide for instructions on lobby setup, host requirements, and reporting issues (including attaching your .save and ExceptionLog files on the forums).
