Hey everyone,
tower.defense() started as a small learning project. I'm a solo developer, and somewhere along the way I got completely invested in the idea: a tower defense where you decide not just where a tower goes, but how it thinks.
I decided the project needed a fresh start. The game has now been rebuilt from scratch, and the new demo is live on Steam.
The demo contains 20 missions and three programmable towers: Sentry, Lance and Warden. Place your towers, build their behaviour with visual blocks, and watch your plan play out in a cyberpunk setting. You don't need to know how to write code to try it.
Thank you for playing and leaving feedback, including when things went wrong. Some of you ran into stuck tutorials; others pointed out that learning what a block does isn't enough if the levels give you no reason to use it. Those are fair criticisms. I'm sorry the old demo got in your way.
This is a very early demo, not a finished game. Features are still missing, and there is more work to do on bugs, balance and polish. The rebuild doesn't mean every problem is solved.
If you give it another shot, I hope you find something fun in this new version. Please leave bugs and impressions in the Steam discussions—what confused you, what broke, and what made you want to keep playing.
