Weapons and vehicles of the "Off-road Patrol" update

All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

Off-road vehicles were widely used during World War II by all sides. Their roles included reconnaissance, maintaining communications and even providing fire support for infantry, so it was only a matter of time before these important and versatile vehicles found their way to the game.

Who's behind the wheel?

With the arrival of Off-road squads, we are not introducing a new soldier class. Instead, we will change the name of the APC Driver class to Driver, because these vehicles fit better under that class.

However, the number of off-road vehicles in your lineup will have a shared limit with motorcycles, since these squads are similar to Rider squads in terms of usage. That said, we will also make slight adjustments to them too, allowing you to capture points with both vehicle types. So this way you will be able to help out your team even more: whether with the ammo or medic box on your motorcycle, the boxes full of extra grenades on your off-road vehicle or simply with the added fire power. Let the race to capture points begin!

Research tree additions

GAZ-64 DS-39 (USSR, BR II)

A Soviet four-wheel drive off-road vehicle with a mounted DS-39 machine gun. It was designed in just a couple of weeks using readily available parts. Its engine, for example, comes from a GAZ-AA truck, which allows it to reach speeds of up to 90 km/h with a crew of up to three.

Kubelwagen 82 (Germany, BR II)

A German off-road vehicle with rear-wheel drive and a mounted MG 34 machine gun. It is on par with its four-wheel drive counterparts thanks to its weight and design choices, which also allow it to accommodate a fourth crew member.

Type 95 Kurogane (Japan, BR II)

The first mass-produced four-wheel drive off-road vehicle, with production beginning in 1936. It is armed with a Type 11 machine gun and can carry up to three soldiers.

Willys M1919A4 (USA, BR II)

The most common four-wheel drive off-road vehicle of World War II, the grandfather of the modern jeeps. Armed with an M1919A4 machine gun and a crew of up to three.

G4M1 (Japan, BR IV)

The G4M was the most widely produced Japanese bomber of World War II that served in nearly every battle during the Pacific War. This variant carries four 250 kg Navy Type Number 25 Model 2 bombs and its crew can defend it with four 7.7 mm Type 92 machine guns, plus a powerful 20 mm Type 99 Model 1 cannon mounted in the tail.

Lewis Gun Home Guard (USA, BR IV)

A variant of the Lewis gun issued to British Home Guard units, featuring a 97-round magazine and an anti-aircraft sight. An already impressive machine gun just got even better!

New premium squads

The update will also bring additional new premium squads with unique equipment for the USSR and Japan!

17th Fighter Aviation Regiment with P-39Q-15 (USSR, BR III)

An American P-39 Airacobra supplied to the USSR under the Lend-Lease program. It features an unusual layout with the engine installed in the center fuselage behind the pilot and a powerful 37 mm M4 cannon, complemented by four 12.7 mm M2 Browning machine guns, plus a 250 kg FAB-250 sv bomb against ground targets.

The squad will come with a unique fighter pilot and it will be purchasable in the shop for Gold.

5th Kure with IJN 80mm AT (Japan, BR II)

An unusual looking anti-tank weapon developed by the Imperial Japanese Navy to support its troops during landing operations and ground assaults.

The squad consists of 5 soldiers: 4 AT gunners equipped with IJN 80mm AT projectile launchers and one engineer. The primary weapon of the soldiers can be replaced. The engineers in these squads have access to a wide range of buildable structures and can build machine gun nests, anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns!I

The squad will be purchasable in the store.
