Turbo Era Boss Early Access 0.6.0 is now ready for testing on Steam. This is our next milestone: Event Cards.

EVENT CARDS BRING THE RACE TO LIFE

Race weekends now include broadcast-style event moments for:

  • Car preparation and setup
  • Race starts
  • Damp and rainy conditions
  • Accidents and retirements
  • Engine failures
  • Running out of fuel
  • Pit stops
  • Race finishes and podiums

Repeated events can use different artwork. Incidents involving other cars identify the driver, team and event. Player-related problems remain on screen until acknowledged, while other messages disappear after three seconds or can be dismissed immediately with “Skip message”.

FUEL IS NOW PART OF RACE MANAGEMENT

Fuel is now measured in litres and has a direct effect on the race. Light, Standard and Heavy starting loads create different strategic trade-offs. Fuel weight costs lap time, the car becomes faster as fuel burns away, and consumption changes with the engine, circuit, boost setting and driver management.

Running dry can cause retirement — or, if the car is close enough to the finish, a dramatic push to the line.

A CLEARER QUALIFYING HUD

Qualifying now reuses the strongest information from the race HUD while keeping the session countdown visible. You can see the tyres being used by the other cars, the recommended compound for current conditions and the information needed to make better qualifying calls.

The qualifying layout has also been rebuilt for better readability and to prevent information overflowing on smaller screens.

MECHANICAL PROBLEMS DEMAND A RESPONSE

Mechanical warnings now appear as visible centred event cards with a transparent treatment, giving you a clear moment to react. Adjust the boost, change the stint target or call the car into the pits while the existing ACTION information remains available on the HUD.

Pit-stop flow has also been improved: after the pit-stop message, tyre changes remain available and the race speed controls return correctly. If both player cars are out of the race, you can advance directly to the race finish.

A COMPLETE RACE TUTORIAL

The guided tutorial now continues from the HQ through qualifying and into the race. New players are introduced to tyres, fuel, boost, stint targets, pit stops, event cards, race controls, results and the post-race debrief instead of stopping after qualifying.

PADDOCK EDITOR EXPANSION

The custom team editor now includes expanded period-inspired helmet layouts, colour controls and individual driver helmet identities. Portable team profile transfer also makes it easier to preserve and move your custom team designs.

MORE POLISH ACROSS THE EXPERIENCE

  • Improved premium race and qualifying HUD presentation
  • New event artwork and mechanical audio cues
  • Save Game and Quit Game options in Settings
  • The final credits exit now properly terminates the game
  • Improved tutorial focus, persistence and localisation
  • Additional race flow, pit-stop and results reliability fixes

0.6.0 is another major step towards making Turbo Era Boss feel like a complete 1980s-inspired team management experience. We would love to hear your feedback on the new race events, fuel strategy and decision-making flow.
