We’ve returned home from our time at gamescom 2026, and what a busy couple of weeks it was! We had the most amazing time meeting with our fans, showing off the Wearable Spartan Helmet, announcing our release date (February 4) and sharing more of METRO 2039 with you as part of Opening Night Live.
It was incredible to see so many of you visit our gamescom booth to go hands-on with the event demo too, and to see your passion and excitement and your amazing feedback.
Now that we’ve had a chance to catch our breath, here’s a recap of the last couple of weeks of huge METRO reveals!
We kicked the week off by revealing our Wearable Replica Spartan Helmet, which is the centrepiece of our Collector’s Edition. No words can describe the incredible reaction you gave this reveal, and we’re excited to show you more of the Collector’s Edition when pre-orders open later this year.
If you want to be among the first to know when those pre-orders go live, be sure to join our METRO 2039 Collector’s Edition mailing list. By signing up, you’ll also receive an entry into a competition where one lucky winner will receive the Collector’s Edition, all ready for launch day!
We were so proud to be up on stage as part of Opening Night Live, where we presented the latest METRO 2039 gameplay trailer, Renegade. We hope you enjoyed watching this deeper look into the mind and the motivations of the Stranger, just as much as we enjoyed creating it.
It’s been amazing to watch all your reactions to the Renegade trailer, not to mention the theories you’ve been busy cooking up from all this new information!
Next, previews from the press and creators who’d recently gone hands-on with the game went live - and we couldn’t be happier with the reaction!

It was wonderful to see so many fans come to our booth to play the demo. We know the queues were long, but we hope this first chance to explore METRO 2039 for yourself was worth the wait! We were also joined by so many unexpected cosplayers who stopped by to show off their amazing creations.
The gamescom showfloor proved to be the perfect opportunity to show just how far we've come with METRO 2039, share our love for the series together in person – and even hold a mini fan meet-up by our haunted playground!
The passion of our fans is what drives us, and our experience at gamescom this year was a huge boost for the whole team - not to mention a great chance to find out what you all thought about the demo.
Plus – we revealed our release date – mark your calendars for February 4 2027!
To celebrate, we took part in PlayStation State Of Play and showed off our first console captured gameplay – captured on PS5 Pro performance mode at 4K 60 FPS with Ray Tracing [RC1]
