This past week has been a heavy one. Every boss got torn down and rebuilt, co-op got a serious power correction, guns feel faster in the hand, and there's a pile of new weapons, enemies, and quality-of-life to dig into. Here's everything.
Every boss in the game has been redrawn at full fidelity with per-limb animation instead of scaled-up sprites — and several got brand-new attacks to match.
New looks and new tricks for THE MAW, the Leviathan Engine (now a flying skyhook carrier), The Appetite, The Compactor (wall-mounted bullet-hell), and the Mycelium Choir (break its three power cores to drop its shield).
Renames with teeth: The Gardener is now the Phosphor Legion Cruiser (24 seeking gatlings), the Glacier Prime is now the Coolant Geist, and the Broadcast is now the Signal Scion — its 25 seeking nodes are color-coded, so shoot the right ones (green heals it, blue shields it, red shoots you).
Hitboxes now match the art. Your shots land where the boss visibly is — no more phantom coverage.
The Assembly Prime now has seven individually-targetable, regrowing limbs. Where you aim decides which limb falls.
If you play with friends, this is a big one.
Non-host players now hit their full weight. Clients previously never landed crits and lost their element/boss damage bonuses — doing roughly half their solo damage. That's fixed. Everyone crits, everyone carries full multipliers, and clients now see enemy status effects.
Smarter boss targeting. Bosses now lock onto one player and commit — then switch when someone else pushes too hard, or the target goes down.
13 new co-op-only support items that drop in online play (12 weapons + 1 passive). Every one is a real, usable gun with a support effect as the headline — Suture Beam (lock-on heal), Triage Mortar, Defib Lance (revive a downed teammate at range), Aegis Projector (deployable shield wall), Reflector Pylon, Marklight Lance, Rally Flare, Grav Well, Supply Link, and more.
Nanojet Flyboots (epic passive) — grants a jetpack for the run, or upgrades your existing one to ×4 fuel and ×2 refuel.
Malkail's Drakeshot — a rapid-fire icicle-needle gun with infinite ammo (no reload, no overheat). The catch: it drains your own HP while you hold the trigger (it can't kill you — it floors at 1 HP). Hold it long enough and it erupts a frost plume that freezes nearby enemies, and it grants +25% jetpack fuel while equipped.
Natsuna's Squirt Gun — a deliberately dinky toy water pistol... that heals a teammate when you aim it at them. Staff-legal.
THE PAIR (co-op): if one player carries the Drakeshot and a different player carries the Squirt Gun, both players get +25% damage.
A new class of enemy that never attacks you — they exist to buff the pack. The counter is always the same: kill the support first.
Welder Drone — heals the most-wounded ally, then flees when shot.
Shieldwright — bolts breakable armor plates onto allies.
Salvage Priest — revives a corpse at half health.
Signal Mast — aura ring that makes nearby allies fire ~40% faster.
Battery Mule — tethers a shooter and upgrades its rounds to bigger, harder-hitting shots.
Searchlamp — sweeps a light cone; if it spots you, it wakes every enemy nearby at once.
Instant trigger. We removed the tiny wind-up delay that sat on every gun. Press-to-shot is now essentially the next frame — the single biggest feel improvement in this patch.
Honest numbers. Weapon stat cards no longer misreport at high Forge levels, heat-weapon bonuses now stack correctly, and the Rally Flare fire-rate buff actually works now.
Calmer breathers & a reward pity floor so you don't hit long drought streaks, plus an opt-in run timer with per-biome splits.
Inside the CUSTOM RUN kiosk, pick any boss you've beaten and fight it in a small arena with your current loadout. Nothing is banked — no rewards, no progress, and dying here won't end a real run you've got parked. Pure practice.
New 8th Forge wedge: +15% Magazine. Every landing adds magazine size (capped at ×1.75) and stacks with magazine items. On heat weapons it widens the heat budget instead.
Every gun now reads as one of five projectile classes — needle, light, standard, heavy, and slug — so a round looks and collides differently at a glance. A DMR fires a thin thread; a rail launches unmistakable mass.
THE DOORWAY. Walking in from the street now gives you a quick choice: THE FOUNDRY (your workshop) or THE LOUNGE (the bar). Both are one keypress from the front door.
VOIDFALL LOUNGE, repainted — a widened room with a new Contracts / Bounties board so you can pick up standing orders without leaving the club.
Frosty the cat got seven new behaviors — petting, leg rubs, a laser-pointer chase, a drop-pod send-off and welcome-home, a climbable cat tree, and free roam of the lounge. Purely for the vibes. Adopt him at the Foundry bed.
Steam intro-video freeze fixed. The launch intro stalled on the Steam build specifically — the overlay's GPU mode was breaking hardware video decode. Fixed.
"THE LONG DROP" is completable again. The main story chain used to stall because story-givers appeared later than the objectives they hand out. Fixed — the giver always shows.
Truthful tooltips on the cursed-armor items (Warden Plate, Lead Halo, Martyr Plate), plus lore text updated to match the current bosses.
As always — thank you for playing. Tell us what's landing and what isn't, drop your co-op stories, and we'll see you in the next drop.
