This decision changes how the game feels

Hey 🌱 Here's an update on our cozy exploration game Seaward.

I know the subject sounds super serious, but it was actually hard to decide for us. What am I talking about? Drumroll... 🥁🥁🥁

We got rid of the sail.

👀 That's it? You ask? Well yes. But it changes how the game feels. We think for the better.

Here's why:

Although the feeling of sailing is nice, it lead players to not engage with the actual gameplay of powering the ship.

We put the sail in the game as a method to go when you're out of resources. But players often just relied on the sail alone. So we made the hard decision to cut it.

The game now feels much more interesting in our opinion. We're still balancing how quick the motor consumes energy to not make it frustrating.

🎣 There's fishing now!

Yeah we know every game has fishing. But it just fits so well.

And if you're ever stranded on the open sea with no resources, you can always fish for some!

🖼️ Better Decoration

We also improved how decoration works. Now your ship can look more how you want it to look!

And you can finally place the photos you took in picture frames!

And as we're gearing up to get the demo out soon, there are more improvements. We can't wait for you to try everything in the demo!

Btw, are you in our Discord channel yet? It's a great place to leave feedback or ideas ❤️
