Thank you to everyone who has played Yandere Virus and shared feedback and bug reports over the past four days.
Based on your feedback, we have been fixing bugs, improving multiplayer stability, adjusting balance, and adding quality-of-life features. Here is a summary of the main changes implemented so far.
Update 1.0.4 introduced new features to make it easier to play with other players.
• Allow Random Join: Choose whether to allow other players to join your lobby through random matchmaking.
• Quick Random Join: Join a lobby that allows random matchmaking. This feature was renamed from “Quick Join” to better explain how it works.
You can now enjoy multiplayer with both friends and players from around the world.
Fixed an issue where characters would occasionally fail to land and remain floating in the air.
Improved handling of situations where players could not rejoin the same lobby, or took a long time to reconnect, after disconnecting while playing with players overseas.
When a new connection request arrives, the server now checks for an existing connection from the same Steam account and closes any remaining connection before accepting the new one. Lobby capacity is also checked based on the player count after the old connection has been cleared.
Hitting a yandere with a thrown pumpkin causes them to let out a short scream and briefly stop.
This does not apply to certain monsters.
You can now choose from three graphics rendering quality levels in the settings.
Select the quality level that suits your PC for a smoother gameplay experience across a wider range of hardware.
The game now automatically detects when it is running on Steam Deck and adjusts the game settings accordingly.
Characters now make exertion sounds and scream in multiplayer as well.
• Fixed an issue where pumpkins would occasionally disappear.
• Adjusted pickup detection to make pumpkins on the ground easier to pick up.
• Reduced the number of support monsters in Stage 4 (Hospital).
• Increased the number of lives in single-player from 2 to 3.
We will continue reviewing your feedback and bug reports and steadily working on further improvements.
Our priorities are bugs that affect game progression and multiplayer stability. We will also continue refining the controls, usability, and game balance. Future changes will be shared through update announcements.
We are also planning new content that will let you uncover the hidden stories of characters infected with the Yandere Virus. We will share more news as development progresses.
Once again, we apologize to those who were disappointed by the bugs and issues at launch. We will keep working to provide a better gameplay experience.
Thank you for playing Yandere Virus!
