We've added a [Disable Counter] feature. You can now turn off the keyboard/mouse counter in the settings.
You can re-enable it at any time after disabling.
When disabled, your character will no longer sync with your keystrokes.
We want to emphasize: whether enabled or disabled, in every version, we never record what you type — the counter simply increments by 1. The demo version also has no network activity beyond Steam and the official Unity SDK.
We've improved the onboarding flow: the counter feature will only be enabled after you explicitly agree to start counting.
We released an update and fixed this issue yesterday at 7 AM Pacific Time (UTC-7). If you uninstalled the game before then, the installation prompt may still appear after uninstalling. In this case, the only workarounds are to reinstall the game once, or manually remove the startup entry. We know this is inconvenient, but there's nothing we can do to fix it on our end once the game has been uninstalled. This was our technical mistake, and we sincerely apologize to everyone affected — especially those who have already uninstalled the game.
If possible, we'd also appreciate it if players who are aware of this issue could help pass the message along to others experiencing it. Thank you so much!
Our announcement yesterday mentioned the workaround for uninstalled players, but the image on Steam wasn't very clear, so we'll mention it again: open Task Manager, find the cmd.exe startup entry, and disable it (if there are multiple entries with the same name, you can identify the correct one by its command line, as shown in the image).
We've received reports from players that the counter still counts after the game is closed, but despite repeated testing and investigation on our end, we haven't been able to reproduce it. Special thanks to player 『Tomokush』 for reporting this and pointing out that it might be caused by Steam Cloud saves (which ensure your character appears on different devices), which also sync the counter. We tested this scenario, and the count does indeed jump on one device — but this isn't counting while the game is "closed," since the game isn't actually closed; it's simply running on another device.
We still can't confirm whether this is the cause. But if you've experienced this issue and are certain it's not due to multiple devices, please let us know. Thank you!
We've only had the demo live for less than a week, and there are still many areas where we fall short. But thanks to everyone's support and word of mouth, we've received an incredible amount of attention — which means every hour a problem persists affects that many more people. We're truly grateful to every player who has reported issues, and we're learning how to receive and act on this feedback.
Most importantly, what we've received most of all is encouragement and appreciation from players all over the world — your tolerance, kindness, and support despite all our issues means so much. Please believe us when we say: no one cherishes this game more than our team does, and no one wants more than us to create a desktop companion you can trust. Thank you all, sincerely!
