Dev Diary #5: A Peek Above the Surface

This episode is about the wildlife itself. We have been building out marine life behavior: when, why and how varied species come and go along our coast, how they react to swimmers, and how a lifeguard on duty actually manages danger.

Grab the binoculars and keep watch. Anything breaking the surface that looks off is worth a second look. A characteristic shape gliding just under the water means it is time to clear the area, not wait around to double-check if it looks hungry.

Some early looks above, some quick look on gif below

We are tuning how sharks move, how their fins read from a distance, and how much warning a sharp eyed lifeguard actually gets. And how much a distracted one does not.

Not every animal on the beach is a threat though. There is more living above and below the surface than sharks, and the ocean itself is about to get a much nicer look too, more on that soon.

Yours, Lifeguard Team
