BodyWalkVR v1.31 is out! This announcement covers everything since v1.27 — the app now speaks 16 languages, and there are two new ways to walk, including support for manual treadmills.

🌐 BodyWalkVR Now Speaks 16 Languages

  • Full localization: English, German, French, Polish, Italian, Spanish (Spain & Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Simplified & Traditional Chinese, Hindi, Ukrainian and Russian — the whole interface, inline guidance, FlatVR sub-tabs and Quick Setup preset cards.

  • Correct fonts everywhere: The right font face is loaded automatically for each script, so no more empty boxes instead of characters.

  • The AI Support Assistant speaks your language too: It detects your active UI language and answers using the exact localized names of tabs, sliders and presets.

🎮 Two New Ways to Move

  • Manual Treadmill support (Forward Only) — the headline feature. If you own a manual (non-motorized) treadmill, you can now walk in VR on it: place an optical mouse under the belt, and BodyWalkVR converts its movement into real steps. No trackers, no extra hardware — just a mouse you already have. It comes with its own Quick Setup card, a guided 3-step wizard with treadmill graphics, and a live step signal visualizer so you can confirm every step is being read before you start playing.

  • HMD Locomotion (Forward & Strafe): Walk forward, back and sideways using only your headset orientation — no extra trackers required.

✨ Also in this release

  • Lower input latency: Inputs are injected the moment they arrive instead of waiting for the next SteamVR frame (up to 11 ms less delay), and a new smoothing slider (0–500 ms) in the Direction tab lets you go fully instant.

  • Better head rotation compensation: Now works with every tilt-based locomotion type, with an adjustable strength multiplier and a fixed direction visualizer.

  • Hover tooltips everywhere: Every control and setting explains itself when you hover over it.

  • Stability fixes: Fixed controller grips freezing in some VR titles (OpenXR / OpenComposite), fixed START/STOP hold bindings getting stuck, and added a clear press/release indicator.

  • FlatVR: Mouse-driven VR controller aiming, native ReShade SDK integration, and general performance improvements.

Thank you for all the reports and feedback — a lot of the fixes above came straight from the community. Have a good walk!
