DDoD is Part of Ukrainian Games Festival 2026!

Hey there, Folks!

DDoD is taking part in Ukrainian Games Festival 2026 — and it's live on Steam right now, August 17–24.

It feels like a good moment to say something out loud to everyone who has joined our community along the way:

DDoD is made in Ukraine.

Behind the monsters, the fog, and the abandoned places you've run into is a Ukrainian development team. Most of us are in Ukraine, some of us aren't right now - and “from home” has a slightly different meaning for the ones who are.

🇺🇦 MAKING DDoD IN UKRAINE

We're building this game during a full-scale war. For the part of the team that's home, that's not a dramatic statement, it's just the schedule - air-raid alerts, blackouts, plans that fall apart in the morning and get rebuilt the same evening. You learn to work around it, and it gets normal faster than you'd expect.

What we didn't expect is that working on the game is what keeps us going. Spending an hour arguing about how ridiculous a mutant should look, or breaking the weapon balance and fixing it again - that's how we deal with what's going on around us.

A lot of what you feel in DDoD - the weirdness, the atmosphere, the intensity - comes from there.

🙏 AND THE PEOPLE WE OWE THAT TO

None of this would exist without the people defending us.

Thank you to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Every day our team spends on making the game instead of survival is a day someone else paid for with their lives.

Thank you to the Territorial Defense. To the people standing watch in the same cities and towns we live and work in, at checkpoints and on rooftops, through nights when nothing happens and nights when it does.

Thank you to the State Emergency Service. The rescuers who drive toward the thing everyone else is running from, and are still working in the rubble long after the news has moved on.

And thank you to the volunteers. The ones with no uniform and no credit, who spend their own evenings, money and nerves getting vehicles, drones, medicine and everything else to where it's needed - and then get up the next morning and do it again.

And thank you to everyone else keeping this country running. Medics, the National Guard, border guards, the power crews who get the lights back on after every strike, railway workers, and everyone whose ordinary job stopped being ordinary in 2022. We know a list like this always leaves someone out. Thank you anyway.

🎮 WHY THIS FESTIVAL MATTERS TO US

That's also why this one isn't just another event on the Steam calendar for us.

For a week, hundreds of Ukrainian studios are on the same page. The legendary names you already know - S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Metro, Cossacks, Sinking City. The new names breaking out right now - Dear Passengers, SAND: Raiders of Sophie. And a lot of small teams you probably haven't heard of yet, working on things like Hollow Home or Tukoni.

Go through the list. There is more on it than you'd expect, and most of it is discounted this week.

We're glad to be standing there with the rest of them. If you walk out of this festival with somebody else's game in your library, that's a good week for all of us.

AND TO EVERYONE FOLLOWING DDoD - THANK YOU! 💙💛

If you've played the Demo, wishlisted DDoD, sent us feedback, made a video, or simply followed the game from somewhere across the world - thank you.

It reaches us. And it genuinely matters.

The festival runs until August 24. If you haven't tried the Demo yet, this is a good week for it.

See you in the fog...

Слава Україні! 🇺🇦
