Howdy, Sponge Buds!
Thanks to everyone who's continued sending in bug reports and feedback since launch.
We've been reading it all, from Steam reviews to Discord posts. Today's update includes another round of gameplay balancing, level improvements, and bug fixes based on what we've heard from players.
We've done a quick tuning pass to make survival a little more forgiving while keeping the chaos intact.
Healing Items
Chocolate now restores 40 HP (up from 20)
Apples, Cucumbers, and Pineapples now restore 20 HP (up from 10)
Mushrooms now remove 40 poison (up from 20)
Antidotes now remove 50 poison (up from 25)
Rats
Explosion timer increased from 6 to 10 seconds
Explosion damage reduced from 25 to 10
Raft Handling
Reduced raft acceleration for smoother control
Tuned steering and forward movement
Slightly increased buoyancy for a more stable ride
We've continued polishing several levels to improve flow and reduce frustrating moments.
Getting Your Feet Wet
Made the second buoy easier and safer to reach
Wood Chipper
Fixed a spot where players could get stuck, improved river flow, added clearer puzzle feedback, and moved a revive tombstone
Razor's Edge
Made one of the first puzzles easier to understand, added more revive locations, and toned down the barbed wire and falling rocks sections
The Ascent
Added more recovery options for players who fall and improved elevator reliability
The Climb
Added more repair resources and recovery options for players who fall, smoothed out the first elevator transition, and made the final obstacle less punishing
We've fixed a variety of small bugs across the game based on your reports.
Fixed The Reviver achievement
Fixed several localization and UI issues, including missing translations and text overflow.
Resolved a handful of gameplay issues that could cause players to become stuck.
Every update helps make Sponge Break a better experience!
