Howdy, Sponge Buds!
First off, thank you to everyone who's been playing Sponge Break since launch. We've been reading your feedback, watching your streams, and taking notes. It's been incredibly helpful to see where players are having the most fun (and where the river has been fighting back a little too hard).
This update includes a number of quality-of-life improvements, gameplay tweaks spanning multiple river levels, and bug fixes based on what we've learned over the past few days.
A few of the biggest changes in this update include:
Raft Storage has been doubled from 3 slots to 6, giving you more room to carry supplies throughout your adventure.
Rafting feels smoother thanks to adjustments to water physics and buoyancy across several levels, making rough water a little less rough.
Proximity Chat range has been increased, making it easier to hear your fellow sponges while navigating the river.
Volleyballs are now much more punchable. You're welcome.
We've made several tweaks across the campaign to smooth out gameplay and fix frustrating edge cases.
Adjusted water behavior in Getting Your Feet Wet, Test the Waters, Into the Wild, and Wood Chipper for more consistent rafting.
Fixed areas where players could become stuck in Dam Buster and Wood Chipper.
Addressed out-of-bounds and rare raft issues in The Barrage.
Fixed a rare raft issue near the finale of This Is It.
Resolved an issue affecting the Shark Buoy.
This update also includes a variety of fixes and polish, including:
Fixed customization menu scrolling.
Fixed players losing their grapple after certain deaths.
Fixed several hallucination visual and audio issues.
Fixed an issue preventing some players from swapping buoys.
Fixed save file icons on affected levels.
Fixed a variety of audio issues.
Improved raft behavior and resolved several rare raft glitches.
Thanks again to everyone who has been playing, reporting bugs, sharing feedback, and streaming Sponge Break. Watching your adventures (and disasters) has been just as valuable as reading your reports, and it's helping us make the game better with every update.
If you're enjoying Sponge Break, we'd really appreciate a Steam review. Every review helps more players discover the game and makes a huge difference for our small team.
See you on the river!
