Update: 0.8.6 Changelist:

Overview

This update is a mix of numerous smaller improvements to gameplay and a few art updates.

Gameplay Changes

  • Player Missiles:

    • Now travel 50% faster.

    • Explosion blast range diameter has been increased from 40 metres to 50 metres wide.

    • Damage inflicted upon enemies has been increased from 3000 Hit Points to 4000 Hit Points.

    • Now has a unique purple explosion effect to help better discern player missile detonations from other explosions.

  • Enemy Fighters are now armed with a single laser weapon aiming forwards. The Fighters laser fire can be stopped simply by destroying the Fighter.

  • Marauders are now armed with five laser weapons, three aiming forwards and two aft. The Marauders laser fire can be stopped either by destroying the various hull components the lasers are firing from or by destroying the Marauders central Reactor block, which as usual will destroy the entire Marauder, including all lasers.

  • First wave of Drones in the Cendoria level now start further to the left to prevent them from abruptly appearing on screen.

  • Two Naval Frigates have been removed from the map. With the Marauders now able to shoot at the player this is to reduce overwhelming enemy fire.

  • The two marauders that pass over the top of the Cendorian city now exit over the mountains further away giving more time to attack them.

  • Enemy waves of drones that fly over the final causeway in the Cendoria level are now centred.

  • Ships moored beneath the final causeway in the Cendoria level moved further apart to make them easier to target while flying over the causeway

  • The flightpath heading toward the Cendorian Imperial Cruiser Boss now has a more direct line under the causeway so targeting naval forces to the left is now easier. A nearby Bomb pick-up has been moved as well.

  • When the player's Star-Fighter is hit it now only flashes red once rather than a damage pulse effect.

  • Medal targets have been adjusted following playtesting:

    • Bronze Medal raised from 800 required Score-Points to 1000.

    • Silver Medal raised from 1000 required Score-Points to 1400.

    • Gold Medal raised from 1200 required Score-Points to 1800.

Art Changes

  • The Cendorian Headquarters building now has an explosion cluster when destroyed.

  • Tank Boss has had neon trim added to its hull.

  • Heavy Laser Cannon used on both bosses has had neon trim added.

  • In the Cendoria Mission intro the Battleship Alastrius is now moving.

  • The Fighters hull has a minor visual change to accommodate the new in-built laser launcher.

  • Enemy Missile Projectiles now have blue tips.

Bug Fixes

  • Further fixes to the Tank Boss Missile Pods opening early.

  • Cendorian Tank Bosses three Laser Cannons are now invincible until the start of the battle preventing the player from damaging them at long range.

  • Battleship Alastrius no longer vanishes above Cendoria when reaching the end of its pathing.

  • Padding around the Score UI element is now symmetrical.
