Controller Support Is Ready — Steam Deck Testing Complete

Hello, detectives,

We have recently completed a major usability update for The Scarlet Thread: the game can now be played entirely with a controller.

Controller support covers the full experience, including:

• Story navigation and dialogue choices

• Investigation scenes and interactive objects

• All puzzles

• Secret Boards

• The Clue Notebook and illustration collection

• Chapter selection and puzzle replay

• Menus, settings, and save management

We have also completed a full developer playtest on Steam Deck. The current Windows build runs through Steam on the device, and the complete game can be played using the Steam Deck’s built-in controls.

We are continuing to examine interface readability, controller focus behavior, and any remaining issues that may only appear during extended play. Steam Deck compatibility badges are assigned through Valve’s separate review process, so we are not describing the game as “Steam Deck Verified” at this stage.

A preview build is currently available to selected curators. Feedback on controller navigation, text readability, puzzle interaction, and Steam Deck performance is especially welcome.

Thank you for following the development of The Scarlet Thread. We are now concentrating on final bug fixes and release preparation work.
