Hi everyone!
I'm so happy to announce that Screen Stocks now has MOD SUPPORT! These come in 2 forms:
Bots: People on our Discord have been making trading bots, and we've now added an official way of interfacing with the data!
Custom Skins: Now, the data type for skins in the game is editable and you can create your own!
Go to C:\\Users*YOURUSERNAME*\\AppData\\LocalLow\\Conradical Games\\Screen Stocks.
Edit thesmallshort_online_settings.sav and set "modSupport" to "true" while the game is closed.
Run the game.
You will now have a new folder called "mods" there that has a list of commands, an export of your price history to trade on, and a folder with your custom skins.
1.Enable mods.
2.Use the "export" folder to read your price history. You can make your own program (e.g. python) to visualise this data.
3.Use the "commands" folder to execute trades. This folder has 1 folder per stock, and you can run commands for each one.
4. To run a command, simply set the variables to what you want to execute in with your program (e.g. how much percent you want to buy of a stock), set "execute" to true, and then it will happen!
Important note: This is the official way to make a trading bot. Connecting to the server and bypassing the client is not allowed since it deteriorates the experience for everyone else at no gain. If you'd like more features that are not included in this first implementation of the trading bot support, please let me know!
1. Enable mods.
2. Use the "skins" folder to see the custom skins. These will be loaded into the game automatically, and update at runtime so you can tweak values while you have the game open to see the effects of each one.
1. Enable mods.
2. Drag a custom skin into the "skin" folder.
3. That's it!
People have been doing crazy stuff on the game's official Discord, so make sure to join to get others' custom skins, their bot implementations, and more!
I hope you keep on enjoying Screen Stocks, and I would REALLY appreciate it if you reviewed it. It's the best thing you can do to support the game if you're enjoying it!
Talk soon!
