Steam approved the build this week, so we can finally say it out loud VR Realms releases on September 25.
It has been a long stretch of quiet on this page. It has not been a quiet stretch for us.
What changed in the game
The last few weeks went into the stuff you feel the moment you put the headset on.
- A brand new menu, redesigned from scratch and rebuilt page by page.
- Groups that actually work, with join requests, approvals, and mods you control.
- Chat that fits a real conversation.
- A hub that keeps score, with leaderboards on the ceiling and a points system that rewards playing, talking, inviting, and making things.
- Travel together with friends without anyone losing their spot when the host leaves.
- A whole set of small fixes, from the language list to the mirror slider, that add up to a game that feels finished instead of almost there.
What changed for creators
Creators got the same attention.
- The Creator Kit has a Play button now, so you can test your map in the real game before you ever upload it.
- A chat command drops a test player into your map so you can try your scripting.
- The scripting nodes grew from a handful to about forty-five, enough to build your own game mode inside a map with no networking knowledge at all.
- VRoid characters walk in at your height with your hands where they should be.
- The kit checks its own settings before it builds, so the black right eye bug is gone for good.
All of this is live on the hub servers today. The client that matches it is what unlocks on the 25th.
Wishlist it, tell a friend, and we will see you in the hub.
