Hello. Three Kingdoms Classic 1.6.0, Hundred Vistas Under Heaven, is now live. This update introduces Scenario Studio, a separate creator app where you can build battlefields of your own. Starting with the base game’s 62 cities and historical officers, you can reshape factions and starting positions, then add historical events, short-term objectives, and dedicated endings. Share your scenarios as ZIP files or publish them to Steam Workshop. Campaigns and replays preserve the scenario as it was when play began, even if the original pack is later updated or removed.
Launch Scenario Studio from Creator Tools on the main menu. Create a project from a blank 62-city map or the layout of a supported base-game scenario, then manage your automatically saved source project. The Studio currently lets you edit:
Scenario title, description, author, start date, and optional translations in five languages
Factions and their rulers, advisors, heirs, resources, tendencies, colors, and governments
Ownership, population, development, troops, provisions, public order, fortifications, and naval strength for all 62 cities
Whether base-game historical officers appear, along with faction, city, loyalty, relations, assignment satisfaction, and captive status
Required custom-officer packs, the officers actually used from those packs, and automatically linked spouse and parent-child relationships
Diplomatic relations between factions, the imperial court, province consolidation, and starting captives
Custom historical events built from conditions, effects, dialogue, and illustrations
Faction-specific short-term objectives and endings with up to 16 narration or officer-dialogue scenes
Completed projects can be validated and exported as Scenario Pack ZIP files, published as new Steam Workshop items, or uploaded as updates to existing items. You can also import a compatible single-scenario ZIP back into a Studio project for further editing. Scenario Studio focuses on scenarios that use the base game’s fixed 62-city map and its historical officers or officers from installed custom-officer packs. New maps and cities, arbitrary scripts, and editing campaign state after play has begun are not currently supported.
We have also prepared two official external scenarios made with Scenario Studio. Both include a dedicated introduction, a short-term objective, and an ending for completing that objective.
The Memorial: Prelude to the Northern Expeditions (227) As Shu Han, secure Anding, Jincheng, Longxi, Wudu, Wuwei, and Chang’an to advance into northwestern Liang Province and Guanzhong. Complete the objective to see a Chang’an victory illustration and an epilogue for Zhuge Liang and Liu Shan, then end the scenario or continue toward unification.
Guanqiu Jian and Wen Qin’s Rebellion (255) Beginning with only Shouchun, lead the Guanqiu Jian–Wen Qin Army against Cao Wei’s suppression force and survive 12 full rounds. Complete the objective to see a dedicated ending depicting a new dawn for the Huainan army, then end the scenario or continue the resistance. The late-era roster has also been expanded from historical sources with officers including Guanqiu Xiu, Lu Xuan, Ding Zun, Shi Zhao, and Li Xu.
Each official scenario’s short-term objective is tied to a new Steam achievement.

Achievements unlock only when the content, scenario, faction, and objective all match the official release. An ordinary user-made scenario with the same name does not qualify.
Twenty-nine major officers now have animated portraits. Their expressions and gaze move naturally in officer details, officer speech bubbles, and selected story scenes.

Motion portraits can be disabled in Settings. Static portraits are shown when Reduce Motion is enabled in your operating system. Information-dense screens such as troop and officer lists continue to use static portraits.
You can now select Source Han Serif or Source Han Sans in Settings, with the appropriate regional Source Han font applied automatically for the game language. Add TTF or OTF fonts to the app data fonts folder to make user fonts appear in the Settings list as well.
Select multiple captives and recruit, detain, release, or execute them in a single batch. Executions require a separate confirmation step, and the result for every captive is shown together.
Consecutive favorable command matchups now build a combo that can gain a chance to inflict Confusion at certain stages. Confusion is checked only once within the same combo chain, and the battle display has been aligned with the engine’s actual result.
Command strain for large armies has been eased so rear-line officers can also contribute command capacity. Rather than deploy troop counts far beyond its commanders’ ability, the AI now adjusts the force before reconsidering an attack.
The cost, expected value, and AI evaluation of setting fire to an enemy granary have been rebalanced.
Siege troop cleanup and defensive assignments after a wall collapse have been stabilized.
Right-click an officer row in Attack, Recruit, Transfer, and Personnel screens to open detailed information immediately.
Multi-officer selection screens now provide context-sensitive sorting by recommendation, stats, loyalty, location, arrival time, and more, with ascending and descending order controls.
Fixed cases where the current selection criteria could persist incorrectly or reset during captive recruitment and the recruitment of officers from user scenarios.
Tribal intelligence maps no longer reveal exact troop counts for unscouted enemies.
To reduce late-game slowdown as officer and city counts grow, the game now reuses repeated calculations for travel distances, city routes, recruitment candidates, and diplomatic previews. AI officer management has also been improved as follows.
The AI now considers Ambition, Honor, and city defense assignments alongside loyalty when proactively rewarding officers at high risk of rebellion.
Reward costs, cooldowns, and the limit of one reward per faction each month still apply, so rebellions are not eliminated entirely.
The AI remembers routes where officers were lost during dangerous transfers or stratagems. Factions short on officers avoid repeatedly exposing their ruler and other key figures to the same risks.
The AI reassesses attack troop counts and commander combinations, reducing cases where an offensive is abandoned entirely for lack of command capacity. It also selects siege defenders and late-game recruitment targets more reliably.
Save files from 1.5.0 can be continued in 1.6.0. Saves created in 1.6.0 contain new scenario provenance, historical events, short-term objectives, and AI risk memory, so they cannot be loaded in 1.5.0. A campaign started from a user scenario preserves that scenario’s information and rules as they were at the start. Updating or deleting the original Scenario Pack—or unsubscribing from it on Steam Workshop—does not alter an existing campaign or replay.
Hundred Vistas Under Heaven goes one step beyond playing predefined scenarios. It expands the foundation for players to design their own factions, events, objectives, and endings, then share their visions of the realm with one another.
