This update focuses mainly on pacing, clarity, and making the mansion feel fairer without making it safer.
Player movement has been rebalanced to better fit the slower, more deliberate horror pacing of the mansion.
The stalker’s attacks have been adjusted so deaths feel less like they came from an unfair distance.
Stalker navigation and progression through the mansion have been improved.
Hiding is more reliable, with better breathing room after successfully escaping the stalker.
Creature audio has been rebalanced.
Camera movement has been improved.
First-person flashlight movement has been improved.
Inventory instructions are clearer.
Keys and important pickups are easier and more reliable to interact with.
Unnecessary menu options have been removed from the demo.
Several UI and interaction issues have been cleaned up.
The beginning of the mansion now has a stronger transition into the actual hunt.
The overall atmosphere and presentation of the demo have received another polish pass.
The goal isn’t to make White Mask Mansion easy. The mansion is still meant to be hostile, and the stalker is still meant to put pressure on you. The goal is to make sure that when things go wrong, they feel like part of the game rather than something fighting against the player.
Thanks again to everyone who has played the demo so far.
