A Letter to Our Players

Hello everyone, we are the development team behind Bodycam Onrecord.

As our release date approaches, we are both excited and nervous. Recently, we have noticed that many players, upon seeing the name Bodycam Onrecord, naturally associate it with two highly popular and excellent titles currently on the market: Bodycam and Unrecord. Some players even mistakenly believe we are a spin-off of one of these games, or a hastily renamed knock-off.To live up to every player's expectations and to protect the hard work we have poured into this project, we decided to be completely honest and clarify this matter before the launch.Regarding the origin of the name: A beautiful misunderstandingFrom the very first day this project was pitched, we finalized the name Bodycam Onrecord. Its original English meaning is very direct and pure - simply meaning that a body camera is currently recording. At that time, this phrase perfectly summarized the core visual experience we wanted to present to players. Now that the game is about to launch, this name carries all the development logs and effort we have accumulated from scratch. For a small team like ours, changing the name right before release is tantamount to cutting off our livelihood, so we decided to keep it. We are absolutely not trying to confuse anyone; we are merely sticking to our original concept. To prevent you from buying the wrong game, please read carefully:We know that players' money is hard-earned, and we do not want anyone to waste their money because they misread the title. If you are looking for the highly hardcore, slow-paced tactical shooter: please search for Bodycam on Steam. We are not that game.
If you are looking for the viral, unreleased single-player story-driven tactical game: that is Unrecord. We are not that game either.
So, what kind of game is Bodycam Onrecord exactly?Although we use the same bodycam perspective, our core gameplay and pacing are completely different from similar competing products on the market. In our game, you will experience:Highly realistic graphics and smooth controls: We are committed to creating a highly immersive visual presentation, but at the same time, we reject clunky controls. We pay great attention to the fluidity of movement, striving to make every weapon raise, sprint, and shot silky smooth.Exhilarating Killstreak mechanic (Our core difference!): Unlike the slow-paced tactical simulations on the market, we boldly integrated a more arcade-style, exhilarating Killstreak mechanic! Beneath the ultra-realistic graphics, you can still experience the traditional FPS thrill of unleashing skills after consecutive enemy kills and getting your adrenaline pumping!Rich game modes and maps: The launch version includes a variety of distinct map environments and gameplay modes to satisfy the combat needs of different players.Future Roadmap: Expanding deeply into Survival HorrorThis is just the beginning. In future version updates, our development focus will shift heavily towards the horror genre! Imagine this: under an ultra-realistic bodycam perspective, diving into the dark, facing the unknown and fear... This will be the unique experience we are dedicated to presenting to you in the future. If you have read the above and are interested in our unique combination of realistic visuals + exhilarating killstreaks + future horror expansion, we welcome you with open arms! But if you realize this is not the pure hardcore tactical simulation you are looking for, we also thank you for taking the time to read this announcement. As an indie development team, we may still have room for improvement in various aspects. If you encounter any bugs or have suggestions for improvement during your gameplay, please feel free to leave a message in the community. We will fix and update them as quickly as possible!Thank you to all the players who support indie games!
