We Are Back: Official Launch Date & Major Overhaul Announcement

Hey everyone. I need to be 100% transparent with you all.

I built the core of CTF1 back in 2020. Shortly after, I burnt out, walked away, came back briefly in 2022, and then stepped away again. I know this store page has looked like a ghost town for a long time, and I completely understand why many of you thought the project was dead and removed it from your wishlists.

But I am back, I’m locked into the engine, and this time it’s for real. The game is finally getting finished and it’s nearly there. Our official launch date is January 26th, 2027.

This Isn't the 2020 Version Anymore

I didn't want to just release the old version of the game where you simply ran around. It felt empty and got boring quickly. Over the last few weeks, I have completely overhauled the gameplay loop. The game is now a high-skill competitive arena brawler.

The game now features active, cooldown-based movement abilities designed to let you outplay your opponents. Instead of magic spells or sci-fi teleportation, the game features a semi-realistic, arcade-athletic movement kit. Think real-world physical movements, but cranked up to video-game extremes.

Speed Boosts, Dives, Slides

Chain your momentum together to slide under incoming dives and obstacles, or stretch for that final inch to secure a tag or capture.

Speed Boost:

Dive:

Slide:

Side-Step

Quickly snap left or right to break ankles and completely juke an opponent trying to tackle you, or firmly hold your ground for a defensive tag.

Defensive Side-Step:

Offensive Side-Step:

...and more. We are currently balancing a full kit of tactical abilities that completely change how you attack, defend, and control the arena.

Price Update & The October Free Beta

Because CTF1 has evolved from a basic running simulator into a complete, rock-solid multiplayer experience with fully working custom lobbies, a server browser, and deep mechanics, the game will launch at the price of $4.99. This will directly help cover backend costs and support future updates.

However, I know words don't mean anything after a long absence—proof does. To prove to you that the game is ready and the movement feels incredible, I will be participating in the Steam Next Fest this October. We will be dropping a completely free open beta demo for that week so you can get in, play with your friends, and stress-test the servers before spending a single cent.

Thank you to everyone who has kept this game on their wishlist since the beginning. Get ready for October.

Note: Keep an eye out for our next update in August, where we’ll be dropping a brand-new gameplay trailer showing these new mechanics in action!
