Hey everyone!
Two months ago I looked honestly at the game and did not like what I saw. The level felt like a string of hops. Co-op was bolted on and kept breaking. So I decided to stop, and I rebuilt the whole thing. Now, after a bunch of feature additions, bug fixing and more, I have a target release frame - Q1 2027.
As of the moment I am writing this post, almost nobody knows about this project but I will try to change that in the upcoming weeks and months with indie marketing efforts.
I hope that at the end there will be a group of people enjoying and having fun with Life Balance.
What is new?
Two-player split-screen co-op, from the ground up. Not a mode on the side: the climb is designed for one or two. Each player carries their own burdens and signs their own choices. You can boost your partner up a ledge, hand a burden across, and when one of you falls, you come back next to the other.
A new tower. Ten themed zones built around traversal beats instead of hop strings: rope swings across gaps, springboards, balance beams, pendulum bridges, lifts to catch your breath.
Life Moments. At every crossroads, a courier skids in and deals you three cards: a light one, a heavy one, and a balanced one. You sign one. The burden pops onto your body mid-air. Light ones pay now and cost later. Heavy ones hurt now and pay off if you carry them far enough.
Life Scenes. Doors on the tower lead into short, playable moments of a life: a job interview, a first date, dinner with the parents, a loan office, a therapist's couch, a wedding speech, moving day. Each one is a small game with its own stakes, and what you do there follows you back onto the climb.
What's next?
In the upcoming days I will update the page here on Steam with a new trailer and screenshots. Following that I will begin actively sharing progress from the game online. All feedback would be greatly appreciated!
See you on the tower.
