Frontier: Path of Shadows · published

Steam's Party-Based RPG Fest celebrates RPGs where you adventure as a group of characters with their own personalities, skills, equipment, strengths, and roles both in and outside of combat.
That makes Frontier feel right at home.
At the heart of the game is the crew of the Simurgh: a small group of mercenaries trying to make their way through the fractured Epsilon Sector. Each member of the squad has their own abilities and equipment, and in tactical battles you control the whole team.
Positioning matters. Choosing the right equipment matters. Knowing when to split the squad, when to keep everyone together, and how to combine your characters’ abilities can make the difference between getting paid and becoming another wreck floating somewhere in deep space.
But your party is more than a collection of combat units.
As you travel through the sector, you’ll get to know Jay, Alice, Rob, and Khan and gradually uncover more about their personal stories, their pasts, and what brought each of them to the Simurgh. Together, you’ll deal with rival factions, take on dangerous jobs, explore abandoned places, and uncover what lies behind the mysterious alien Symbiont connected to Jay.
So if Party-Based RPG Fest brought you here for the first time — welcome aboard.
And if you’re already traveling with the crew of the Simurgh, we’d love to hear how the journey is going. Tell us about your favorite characters, squad setups, difficult choices, memorable battles, or anything else you’ve encountered in the Epsilon Sector.
See you out there!
