Name the cells in the Sorting Tray

You can now give a name to any cell in the Sorting Tray.

Name a cell "Sky", "edges" or "red", and the name is saved with your puzzle. Drag one cell onto another to swap the two, and the names move together with the pieces.

Assist names the cells it fills. With the Shape assist, the name also shows the outline of the pieces held in that cell.

Assist now moves more pieces at once.

It still takes at most a quarter of the board, but the limit has risen from 100 pieces to 1,000. On a 4,000 piece puzzle, moving every loose piece now takes 4 uses instead of 40. Puzzles of 400 pieces or fewer are unchanged.

If the pieces do not fit in one cell, the rest go into the next empty cell. Assist uses only cells that are empty and have no name, so a cell you named is never touched.

A save that cannot be read is no longer overwritten.

Nothing is lost while you decide what to do. A save made by a newer build of the game now asks you to update, instead of looking damaged.

If a save really is damaged, you choose what happens: keep playing without saving, delete the save, or start a new puzzle. Damaged saves are marked in the save list.

You can also help us find the cause. The game shows you exactly what would be sent, and nothing is sent unless you agree.

BMP pictures can now be imported, and photos saved as .jfif can now be chosen. The file picker no longer lists HEIC, HEIF or AVIF, which never opened. This needs the Image Import DLC.

Pick "Trial" in the puzzle settings dialog and every size becomes available, including 2,000,000 pieces. A Trial puzzle saves and resumes like any other, and it does not use one of your save slots. In exchange it stays outside your record: the save stays on that PC and is not synced through Steam Cloud, no…
