THE KINGSWARD — DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

Hello everyone!

First of all, we'd like to thank the nearly 20,000 players who played the Demo and took the time to share their feedback. We're happy to say that a large portion of your suggestions and feedback has already made its way into the game!

We wanted to give you a quick look at what we're currently working on and where development stands.

THE WORLD & STORY

The game will consist of five acts, each featuring its own unique biome, story, and atmosphere.

We're currently about halfway through development of Act III, while simultaneously testing and polishing the first two acts, along with the Prologue you experienced in the Demo. This allows us to make sure the game feels cohesive and plays the way we want it to from beginning to end.

We're constantly balancing enemies, abilities, crafting, and items, while also adding new quests and side activities. Our goal is for the open world to feel genuinely alive and filled with things to discover — not just kilometers of empty terrain between locations.

FISHING & COOKING

Among the mechanics that were still in development, Fishing and Cooking are now complete. And let's be honest: what kind of RPG would this be without a proper fishing system?

Fishing and Cooking are character skills that can be leveled up to unlock more and better recipes and rewards.

Higher Fishing levels unlock better rewards, including rare and valuable items.
Higher Cooking levels unlock better food and recipes.

Food provides powerful buffs that can have a significant impact on your character, making Cooking an important part of character progression.

MOUNTS

While testing the game, we discovered a rather significant problem: the world is really big. With several square kilometers to explore, traveling from one place to another can take some time.

To make exploration more enjoyable, we've introduced a variety of mounts, along with a dedicated Riding skill that you can level up.

Collecting rare and unusual items is an important part of any RPG, so we decided to take that idea a little further. We've created more than 20 mounts to collect, including horses, zombie horses, spectral horses, tigers, zebras, a rat, and many other unique creatures.

Some are practical. Some are strange. And some are simply there because we thought they would be fun to ride.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Our release plans remain unchanged. We are aiming to launch The Kingsward later this year, with a Playtest planned beforehand.

If you'd like to take part in the Playtest, keep an eye on the Steam page for more information!

See you in The Kingsward,

DPA Studios
