Every ten years, a sacrifice is made by the emperor at the portal of the Abyss in order to maintain its seal and prevent creatures from leaving that world. As a young adult, Fay finds herself designated to be sacrificed during the next ceremony. Determined to die for her people, she submits to her fate and dives into the Abyss, terrified but proud to know that she is saving her folks. It was without being warned that it was not death awaiting her on the other side... But an adventure that would take her beyond anything Fay could have ever expected, accompanied by her future companion in misfortune, Nyx. 
Nyx is a sky traveler who lost his people in an Abyss-related cataclysm.
